View Full Version : Mezzmo Android 2.0.1 FireTV won't fast foward or rewind

Hello,
My Amazon FireTV appears to have updated the Mezzmo app to 2.0.1 within the last couple days. I now don't appear to be able to fast forward or rewind in a video. My app profile for this device is Conceiva Mezzmo (Android). Nothing has changed other than the update. I was able to fast forward and rewind with no issues previously.
Is there something I need to change?

Hi,
the Mezzmo Android app has changed from using ijkPlayer to libVLC as the internal video player in the app. Can you please tell us what the file format is that you are playing where fast forward is not available? To see this you can right-click on the file in Mezzmo and select 'Get FFmpeg Information...'

I am having the same issue. No FF/Rew. I can only Pause if I physically hold down the Pause/Play button. The file resumes as soon as I let go of the button.

The audio is completely out of sync with all files as well.

I love that subtitles aren't displayed by default anymore!!!!!

I have reproduced the issue with the play/pause button on the remote, you can use the center button on the remote that is used to select an action or file as a work around to play/pause using the on screen button as a workaround until we fix this. We could not reproduce the audio sync issue even with hardware encoding turned off in the settings. We also tried with passthrough turned on and off but the audio was in sync. One of the mkv files we tried would not seek but others we tried were able to fast forward and rewind. Please check to make sure that the file is not being transcoded as this will prevent fast forward.

The Fast Foward / Rewind does not seem to work on any filetype. But here is an example:

If you press the center button on the remote control then press up to put the focus on the seek bar then press the right button on the remote does this allow seeking in the file?

We have reproduced the fast forward and rewind issue and also the audio sync problem. The audio sync problem only occurs when hardware decoding is enabled so it is best to disable this in settings. The same audio sync problem occurs when using the VLC video player app also. We will release an updated app for the fast forward and play/pause issue. For the audio sync problem we will disable hardware decoding by default on the Fire TV devices.
