Mezzmo 6 initially played MP4 video files on my Samsung Smart TV. I stopped the streaming during the program to view the rest later. On restarting the streaming from the previous stopped position, the Samsung tv crashes. Did not happen on Mezzmo 5.

Can you please enable diagnostic logging http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=using_logging&s[]=diagnostic then after restarting your Mezzmo media server try streaming the file to the TV to resume the playback then send us the logs after the TV crashes.

Attached (?) are the crash logs for the problem I reported.

Thanks for the logs. The logs show the TV requests the file and Mezzmo returns the content successfully. There are no file not found errors or other issues so it is unclear why the TV crashes. We can see a lot of UPnP traffic coming from your router, can you please try turning off UPnP in your router to see if this makes a difference?

Hi Peter,
Thanks for the quick response. I tried resetting the router (TP Link AC1750). No change.
If I play a new episode, everything is fine. If I stop that streaming session or try to play a previous watched episode from where that episode was stopped, the TV crashes. I can still play any episode, new/unwatched or one previously stopped by playing it on the home PC (where Mezzmo and the video files run) but then casting to the TV.
Hope that helps.

I also disabled UPnP. No difference, TV reset again when trying to run previously watched/stopped episode.

Can you please try backing up your Mezzmo database from options then uninstall Mezzmo 6 along with the Mezzmo library and re-install Mezzmo 5 from http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/6026-FAQ-How-to-download-older-versions-of-Mezzmo and restore your Mezzmo database for version 5 from the backup you created when upgrading to Mezzmo 6 (if you created a backup) and then try streaming the file to the TV and resuming. If the TV does not crash then enable logging and repeat this then send us the logs so we can compare to Mezzmo 6.

Bit of a disaster.....I backed up Mezzmo 6, uninstalled it, installed the last Mezzmo 5 release, but could not add the videos in its folder to Mezzmo. I'll go back and restore Mezzmo 6.

Ok. I removed Mezzmo 6, installed Mezzmo 5 and restored an old database. I then added the video files to the library.
The file played BUT did not restart after a pause. The Samsung TV crashed (rebooted) the same as with Mezzmo 6. So maybe it is a file problem, but even so, I would not expect a reboot.

We have seen similar issues with Samsung TVs here during testing over the years. When they get into a state where they cannot recover they just reboot.

Ok, I have seen that Samsung TV behavior in the past. Probably best to close this thread now. Thanks for the help, the responses from Conceiva were quick.
