Mezzmo often seems to use around 50% of the my CPU. Not sure exactly what its doing.
The log window says "System task processing active playlists: 45 remaining"

But its said that for some time now. There's no apparent way to stop it to see if that's whats using the CPU.
Be nice if there was a window that showed progress or in more detail what exactly it was doing here. All you see is 3 dots animating.

Processing active playlists is a background task that should not use a lot of CPU. Please check to see if there are any ffmpeg.exe processes running as there could be transcoding or thumbnail preview processing being done.

I turn off thumbnail previews (and I am running a new 3700X Ryzen SSD and 7200RPM Enterprise dives on very fast RAID controllers) because the overhead of chewnhg through full bitrate Blu-Ray RIPs is just too high even with my level of hardware.

Ive turned off transcoding - so cant be that.

Thumbnail previews are something I never use or want - how do I turn them off please ?

In any case - as per my original comment. If there was some kind of information window saying what it was currently doing - I would know for sure.

FWIW its still showing the same thing, although the remaining is now 37 !

Anytime there is a change to the contents of the database, a new file added or the metadata of an existing file is modified then the active playlists are updated. If you have a lot of actors in your actors playlist then this can take some time. Thumbnail preview generation is only done if you run maintenance with the checkbox for this enabled, ffmpeg.exe is used to extract screenshots from videos at intervals for previews when seeking on supported devices. You can try going to your Mezzmo database folder (see options in Mezzmo for the location) and then stop your Mezzmo media server and exit Mezzmo then delete MezzmoVideoPreviewThumbnails.db and then start Mezzmo and your Mezzmo media server to see if this resolves the CPU usage.
