I have Mezzmo Pro v 6.0.4.0 on a WIndows 10 v 1909 build 18363.1016 machine with an i7 4790k / 32 GB DDR3 RAM

I haven't used Mezzmo for a while because the image quality was so disappointing, that is when it would actually play something for a while before crashing. So mostly I just watch my stored .ISO's over my LAN using VLC from a PC. VLC also works from my Android tablets and phone. My Sony Bravia OLED using VLC not so much so I have tried to use Mezzmo for Android TV with the Sony, but when I can get this to work the image quality is miserable, so mostly I just use a little NUC PC connected to the Sony via HDMI and play the ISO using VLC running on the NUC.

Today I decided to have a look and see if I could get it to run better....

I tried to watch something from Mezzmo over my LAN (Gigabit ethernet) through Chrome. So this is the Web interface.

All the video files - which are all .ISOs of DVDs or Blu-Rays - show as "Invalid file" - see att'd

Also, when Mezzmo created thumbnails for the .ISOs I have stored sometimes it creates a full thumbnail and sometimes it creates half a thumbnail with the other half being random pixels. (see thumbnails att'd, I drew yellow boxes around the ones that Mezzmo only half-created)

Using the Mezzmo android app on my Android Galaxy tablet, or on my Galaxy Note 8 phone, it LOOKS like I can watch the .ISO example here ("Chicago Confidential") but pressing the PLAY icon on the android device does nothing. Nothing plays. As far as I can tell Mezzmo is not trying to play anything, either- CPU on the Mezzmo box shows Mezzmo idling at 4 % CPU use, no change when I tap the PLAY icon on the Android device.

Before I abandon Mezzmo, do you have any advice?12571258

V6.x is a dog. It is buggy, crashes frequently, has problems displaying folder art (the partial gray pictures like in your demo), random "invalid files" on playback, freezes with larger libraries, etc. If I hadn't converted my library over from v5 I would roll back.

Try v5 but avoid any of the v6 Mezzmo.

We have not seen the half poster issue with the random pixels before, this image is downloaded from the Internet and saved in the Mezzmo database folder in the Artwork\Posters folder. You could check to see if the file in this folder has the half random pixels to determine if it is a problem with the file or with Mezzmo decoding it in the UI.

The problem with playing ISO files could be due to transcoding on the fly, ISO files will not play natively through the web browser and will be transcoded on the fly. Depending upon the device profile ISO files may be transcoded to Mezzmo android when played so this could delay playing the file while enough of the file is transcoded. You could try pre-transcoding the file for the web interface or turn off transcoding for the Mezzmo android device in 'Media Devices' in Mezzmo to see if the file plays better. VLC is an amazing video player that will play just about any format you throw at it so you will get great results from playing files in VLC. VLC does support playing from media servers so you could try playing the files from Mezzmo through VLC.

Don't mean to completely hijack someone else's thread, but it's been a common occurrence for me. The poster/folder art in my library isn't internet generated. It only occurs when Mezzmo adds it automatically. I haven't been able to figure out what triggers.

They are .jpg files that are stored in the folder with the video file
2 x 3 ratio, usually 600 x 900 (but the vertical is sometimes slightly smaller)
file size is 75kb to 150kb

I am always able to go into the title in Mezzmo and edit/replace the poster with the same poster file, and it always works that way.

It could be that the option to get metadata from external files is turned off in Metadata Retrieval Settings? http://www.mezzmo.com/wiki/doku.php?id=metadata_retrieval_settings&s[]=metadata&s[]=retrieval
