With the release of Mezzmo 6.0.6.0 there is a feature called UserPoster. This is a very cool feature where you can place actor artwork in the UserPoster folder and Mezzmo will always use it over any Mezzmo discovered artwork. This way you can ensure your actor artwork never changes. The file naming is simply "First-Last.jpg" (i.e. Clint-Eastwood.jpg). It is not case sensitive so it can all be lowercase too. Another nice capability this creates is the ability to easily share actor artwork. You can Zip up all your artwork, share it with someone else and they just need to unzip it into their UserPoster folder. If you want to use images already in your poster folder you can copy them over into the UserPoster folder and just rename them.

I wanted to call out this feature since I thought some folks might be interested in it.

Where is it?

I just did the upgrade and I can't find a folder labelled <userposter> anywhere.

It should be next to the poster folder which has the current Mezzmo artwork. The default location is:

c:\users\userid\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo\artw ork\UserPoster\

where userid is the account which Mezzmo was installed with. If you've moved your database it will be under the artwork folder where your database was relocated.

That's what I figured but it is missing in my installation. I will just manually add it and see how it goes.

That will be interesting. Mezzmo added it automatically for me. The way to test it is to find an actor who has a jpg in the Poster folder or an actor which doesn't have an image there and is displaying the default icon. Then add a new one in the UserPoster folder which is different and then browse the image with your client. The UserPoster image should take precedent. Note that some clients cache so if in doubt rename the image in the Poster folder.

OK, looks like the artwork folder has moved since the last time I jumped into it. In the Conceiva folder their are folders for both <Artwork> and <Mezzmo>. The <Artwork> folder seems to be no longer in use because it is empty. Inside the <Mezzmo> folder there are folders labelled <Artwork> there with <UserPoster> inside, these are the ones in use by Mezzmo. Works great from there. I was looking in the old <Artwork> folder.

Thanks.

Thanks. It's a great feature. I use it often.
