Hello,

I test your program and like it more than any other DLNA servers I tested, but
On PHILIPS 40PFL9904H some mkv files doesn't play or have issues (no picture, sound delay)

It will be really great if you can fix it, I am plannig to be your customer.

I logged faulty playback in a log file - 1st file doesn't have picture, last one doesn't play at all.

tested on Version: 2.1.12.0

Thank You!

Hello,

We need all log files (from both folders) to see what's happening. Can you please zip up both log folders and then send the files to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and we'll get back to you via e-mail after checking your logs.

Hello Dennis!
I finally purchased Mezzmo, but suddenly the problem with .mkv files arrived - I couldn't play any mkv file on tv, it just won't start.
Logs are sent to support

After recent update of Mezzmo no files could be played from my Philips 9904 - it all says format not supported.
Nor .avi neither .mkv - nothing.

Frankly speaking I'm frustrated that I bought Mezzmo - it doesn't provide the features I need (mkv playback)

Please try the following:

In Mezzmo, stop your Mezzmo media server.
Go to the Media Devices dialog and delete all devices listed.
Go to the Transcoding Setting dialog and delete all your transcoded files.
Start your Mezzmo media server. Assuming your TV is turned on, then it should be discovered and listed again in the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo.
In the Media Devices dialog, make sure your TV is using the right device profile. Try Philips 7000, Philips 8000 or Philips HT.
Try streaming a few files to your TV and see if things get better.

I did as you recommended.
I've tried with Philips 7000 profile - it doesn't work at all
Philips 8000 profile plays only SD files - avi, mpg, vob, wmv
No my HD files - mkv, m2ts, ts, apple files - m4v, mov, mp4 - are played.

Also I have Panasonic Viera PR50VT20 - it works fine with all SD/HD content thru Mezzmo.

So the fault is in the Philips profile

This is the example - mkv just doesn't play - tv says format not supported

Sounds like your TV model doesn't support MKV files natively, thus you'll need a new profile for it (or you'll need to edit the existing one to exclude MKVs from the supported list). Please let me know if you'd like me to provide instructions on editing your device profile manually or if you'd prefer to e-mail support to get a modified copy.

Please do both - send the instructions and modified profile

Ok, for a modified profile please send a message to support.

To change your profile, please do the following:

1) Open up Philips7000.prf or Philips8000.prf in Notepad (they'll be located in a folder as per this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/467-FAQ-Where-are-device-profiles-located - you'll need to remove the read-only flag before editing)
2) remove or comment out the following section:

<avcontainer id="matroska" name="mkv" encode="1" mimetype="video/x-matroska" preferredtranscoded="1" format="matroska" supportschunked="0" level="41">
<video>
<format id="mpeg4" encode="0">

</video>
<video>

</format>
</video>

3) replace the first "mpeg" section with the following:

<avcontainer id="mpeg" name="mpeg_pal" encode="1" mimetype="video/mpeg" baseline="1" dlnaprofile="MPEG_PS_PAL" format="dvd" preferredtranscoded="1">
<video>
<format id="mpeg2video" encode="1" codec="mpeg2video" preferredtranscoded="1">

</format>
</video>
<audio>
<format id="ac3" encode="1" codec="ac3" preferredtranscoded="1">
<channels>2</channels>
<channels>6</channels>
<bitrate>448000</bitrate>
<maxbitrate>448000</maxbitrate>
<minbitrate>64000</minbitrate>
<samplingrate>48000</samplingrate>
</format>
</audio>
<ffmpegadditional>-threads 4 -pix_fmt yuv420p -copyinkf -sc_threshold 1000000000 -coder ac -qmin 1 -cmp 2 -subcmp 2 -flags +loop -mbd bits -vbsf h264_mp4toannexb -fflags +genpts+ignidx+igndts -deinterlace</ffmpegadditional>
</avcontainer>

4) save the file, restart the server (make sure you have the appropriate device profile selected for the TV in the Media Devices dialog) and try again

Please let me know how that goes.

Doesn't work this way. No effect after editing profile and restarting server

Can you please send in logs after that change? It should transcode to MPEG2 and play that. Also, just as a quick test, try using one of Generic profiles and see if that plays.

Finally it works.
Although some minor slows

I'm glad it's better. Does it work with the change or using the Generic profile?

Hi Dennis,

I have a Philips 7605 TV and regularly visit the Philips site for firmware updates, etc.
Here are the supported codecs for Philips products (on the Excel file):

http://www.supportforum.philips.com/showthread.php?1067-Supported-CODEC-overview-for-ALL-models-(TV-HTS-and-Blu-ray)

Notice that this is the official Philips forum and this thread is regularly updated by Philips.
Hope this helps.

Hi,

Great link, thank you! I've registered there (the only way to view an attachment), but haven't received my confirmation e-mail yet. Once that arrives, I'll be able to see the actual attachment as well and see if our profiles need adjusting based on that.

Here's the excel file.
Sometimes they update it, so it's good that you have registered there.
