which profile to use on Hisense Streamer?

Hi all,

I have a Hisense media streamer in the bedroom connected via cat5 to my network. I'm currently using the default profile but it seems to want to transcode everything when i know that all the files I have on my HTPC run on it fine.

I have the option on the hisense to either play the videos via Upnp (mezzmo) or browse the network share.

Browsing the share works great, but I'd like to use the upnp feature as it's less button pressing on the remote.

Any idea what profile I should be using? Or is it a case of trying them one at a time and see what happens?

Can you please tell me the exact model of your streamer?

I'd try the Xtreamer or DVico profiles to start with.

Let me know how those profiles go and whether a new one needs to be created (in case something doesn't play properly on the HiSense using any of the already created profiles).

Hi Dennis,

I've tried the two suggested profiles and the DVico seems to work better (only very slightly), but it still produces choppy play back to my device.

I've been using avatar as my test subject as it's about 8gig and plays fine when played via a network share.

I noticed that the process mezzmomediaserver.exe shoots up in cpu usage to about 70-80% when using Upnp but when reading from the share the cpu doesn't even flinch.

I've also noticed that the size of the file is mis reported when using Upnp, not that it bothers me as but i thought I'd mention it. When connected via mezzmo ALL my files read at 2g when in truth they are all much larger.

Hi Tristan,

Sounds like those files are being transcoded, but perhaps they shouldn't be. Can you please post FFmpeg information on the Avatar movie? Also, which DVico profile are you using?
