View Full Version : DS suddenly stopped getting these files

I used to be able to get these files with Download Studio but now I can't.

I wonder if this is something they've done on the site, or something at my end that I've inadvertently messed up.

I'll show the URL here of the file I want. Maybe someone else can try it and see if they get it alright. This is my first time in this forum, if I shouldn't show such URLs maybe the moderator can delete it and interested parties could perhaps PM me. And I'll apologize for showing it.

If anyone is successful I'd appreciate a step by step of what they did to get it.

I have taken a look at the url. This url is a 'playlist' of media urls. It contains two urls with is the same content on different servers. There are several ways to download the content.

If you download it as a normal job you will just download the asx playlist file. If you open this up into notepad you will see the items in the playlist.

If you add a new job and change the 'action' to 'Download Site Files' instead of 'Download File', then downloadstudio will download all files in the asx playlist. In this case it will download the same audio file from two different servers which is ok, but a bit of a waste of bandwidth.

If you want to download it just once, take a look at the asx file and you will see the urls of the audio file you want downloaded. Here is the asx file

<asx version="3.0" BannerBar="none">

So from this you can get the url of the media file you require:

I hope this helps.

That's wonderful. thanks very much for that. I actually got those files with SDP so I'll try what you suggest in a week or so when there's a new one I want.

Meanwhile I tried to save a video and it didn't work... and SDP doesn't either... so I'm starting a new thread with a new question. Hopefully....
