View Full Version : Better Video Tagging

Multiple, individual entries for actors, directors, screenwriters, etc.

Multiple, individual entries for genres so that searching by a single genre can be done even if the video file falls under several different; i.e. a movie that is a Drama, Thriller, Mystery can be searched as a mystery or thriller or drama.

Embedding of meta data, possibly to be done when the computer is not in use. It would read the data that has been input (like it is now) and then would embed the meta data of new files when the library refreshed at 3 a.m. or something.

Field for MPAA rating.

Auto tagging from IMDB and/or Amazon

Thank you for the suggestions, we'll add them to our list!

The supported metadata does seem to be more aligned with audio than video. I agree, more is better. When you look at what's supported by .nfo files, you can see lots of metadata that would be useful (I bolded some that I'd prefer to see ASAP for movies):

<plot>So exactly how hard is it to find a needle in a haystack, anyway? And can water dripping on your forehead really drive you nuts? Those are the kinds of questions, myths and urban legends that are put to the test in this humorous series to find out which ones hold water (and keep it from dripping on your forehead and driving you insane).</plot>
