Hey,

So i've been trying Mezzmo for a while now and it seems to be running fine, with the exception of the sound issue i've mentioned while ago. I've since upgraded my OS to Win7, and something crept up.

Seems like two hours (or so) after my TV connects to mezzmo, or when mezzmo has been running for a while in the background, I'll eventually get the "No items to display" on the TV. When I check mezzmo, everything seems ok. But when I close it out, then start it up again, then look in the media devices section, the device profile for my TV reverts to "Sony Bravia KDL", so I have to switch it to "Sony Bravia KDL W" then everything works fine. However, after i've watched for example 2 40 minutes shows, and attempt to run a third episode, I get the "Unable to play video" (or so), when go up one folder and back in, I get "No items to display". I check back on mezzmo, everything is fine, I restart mezzmo (not the media server) the device has reverted to "Sony Bravia KDL", so I switch it again to "Sony Bravia KDL W", which requires a server restart, then it works fine.

Another issue, is I found that mezzmo is either not recognizing these files, or it's sending wrong information to the TV about these files. I have a folder of 26 files and none of them show on the TV. Here is ffmpeg info on one of those files.

Can you please tell me if you're connected wirelessly or wired? Is the IP address of your TV being changed by your router every two hours, by any chance (if you check DHCP settings on your router, see lease time)?

The file you've posted FFmpeg info on should be transcoded, so if it doesn't appear on the TV, then either Mezzmo cannot access it or it's presented in a way the TV doesn't understand. Can you please turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try browsing the folder with those files and once they fail to show up, stop the server and send the logs to support (at) conceiva (dot) com - we'll take a look and see what's happening.

The TV is wired and it's assigned an static IP address. On the DHCP the lease never expires. I'm currently working on getting the logs. Thanks.

Thanks, hopefully the logs will show the problem then.

Hey,

Apparently it either was part of the other problem, some other problem, or mezzmo is playing tricks on me. Now it was showing me the files and they play fine. Even though I restarted the media server service and mezzmo, and checked the profile twice.

Now the other issue is the profile switching. I remember once, I saw a toaster pop-up telling me that it just allowed my TV to connect to the media server, even though it was already in the list of media devices. Never had it on Windows XP, it just started after I upgraded on Windows 7, and windows 7's firewall is disabled.

Well, if the issue comes back please do send in the logs and we'll see what's wrong then.

Hey,

I'd like to add to profile issue. Let me first describe what happen so you can follow on the logs. I've kept the logging on for a while, hence the huge file. You might need to look only on the latest log which is much smaller the previous one.

So I watched one 40 minute episode, then after running the second one, few minutes into the episode. I get some video artifact corruption and audio is no longer in sync with the video. I look towards my computer and I saw two toaster pop-ups from mezzmo, usually it tells me some device is trying to access the server, which is set to always allow.

Anyways, so I press "Home" on the remote, then "Ok", to restart playback so I can get the sound back in sync. After the episode is over, I press home on the remote the go up one folder, then back into the same folder I was watching the episode then it tells me "No items to display". This usually what happens when the "KDL" profile is used instead of the "KDL W". So i went back to the computer, I see another toaster pop-up about the TV connecting and mezzmo allowing it. I check the Device manager, and the profile for my TV is set to "KDL W". I close out mezzmo, then run it again and check device manager and I see my TV set to "KDL" profile. I modify it to "KDL W" which ofcourse lead to restarting the media service. I then clicked "OK" on the Device manager window, then stop the server, and close out mezzmo. I zipped the logs separately and then both into a single zip. Uploaded to mediafire.

I've had similar issues with profiles changing and/or parameters within profiles changing... (http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/1429-Are-the-IP-addresses-listed-in-the-device-profiles-important). Believe this is a known bug.

I believe we've fixed the issue with device profiles changing at random and it'll be part of the next minor Mezzmo update. If you are interested in trying a patch, please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and I'll send it to you.
