Ok Im still trying Mezzmo with somewhat success

Mezzmo running on Linksys WRT54GS Dell Poweredge

400SC
Pentium 4 2.80Ghz 2gb of Ram WinXP cat6 wired
TVs - (2x) Samsung LN37D550 (2 kids)
Samsung LN46D610

Using Samsung Profile D on each
Now the 46" plays everything beautifuly - Im very
happy
However the 2 37" TVs each seem to studder from

time to time with the same file that the 46 plays

great
So I excluded computer or network problems, also
some files that will not play on 37 do in fact play
on the 46. Im hoping this problem can be fixed with

a new profile for the 37's

Please Help

Can you please post FFmpeg information on one of the files that doesn't play on the D550 (in Mezzmo right-click on the file and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command).

Perhaps because it's a different series TV, a different profile (such as "Samsung C" or "Samsung BDP" will be better suited for the D550s - give those profiles a try and see if they help.

That file should pass through natively using mostl Samsung device profiles, so then I'd guess that the TV cannot play it.

Try using "Samsung B" - that'll get that file transcoded and see if that works.

I tried using Samsung B profile and I guess it transcodes the file on the fly, I think ( I could always use some education since this is all new to me) but it seems to have fixed the st-udder problem but Ive lost the ability to skip forward / reverse. Is there any way to combine these 2 for a hybrid profile so I can have the best from both

Thanks

It could be that the TV disables skipping while transcoding is taking place. We don't have a D-series TV here to test, but I'll see if we can arrange one.

When you play that file for the second time, does it allow skipping (once transcoding is finished) or it doesn't let you skip at all?

Yes it does allow me to advance/reverse not as well as the D series profile but I guess it will do also resume seems to work too. So does that mean any file that skips will need to be transcoded, Can either TV use that transcoded file ( since I have 2 )

Yes, all files that do not play properly need to be transcoded. One way to check those files is to use Samsung's PC Share Manager and see if they play or not using that.

If you set both of your TVs to use the same device profile, then transcoded file will be used by both (won't need to be transcoded for the second one).
