Sony Bravia EX500 + SRT subtitles

First of all, I really love this DLNA server. Very intuitive and easy to setup. But I'm having an issue with external srt subtitles when i play MKV files to my Bravia EX500 LCD TV. Reading through the forum, I see that it is because the TV does not support external subtitles ... ? :confused:
However if I use the ps3mediaserver DLNA server, and stream to my TV, external srt subtitles work just fine ...
Is this a feature to come. For me it is quite essential.

It's possible that the PS3MS is transcoding subtitles and merging them on top of the video. When you play those files, is the transcoding status in the main window showing anything? I'll check it here as well.
