I am testing DS for some time now and it works fine.

But i have encountered this problem,it can not download files which contain the character # in their filename,it only gives a failed download error.

Can this problem be fixed somehow?

if not i will have to return to Getright which doesnt have this problem.
and also because i dont intend every time i want to download something, to double check the job list of DS in order to see that there are not files which have failed to be downloaded because of this filename problem.

other than that ,DS is a fine piece of software which does what it promies and i like it.

oh and i am using DS version 6.0.9

It is possible for you to provide us a url so that we can test this?

sure.here is one direct link with a filename containing the # character:

http://softwareji.com/Slide/c#.jpg

which is found here:
http://softwareji.com/Slide/

copy and add the link in the job list of DS and try to download it.
or try to download the link with DS by using the flashgot addon in Firefox.

in both cases DS fails to download the file and gives a failed download error message.

do the same thing with another download manager like Getright or FDM.
you will see that they download the file with no problem.

you will notice that when you paste the link in FDM/Getright directly or by using flashgot, the filename is autorenamed from c#.jpg into c%23.jpg.then it is downloaded without problems and saved correctly as c#.jpg.

In the case of DS this change does not happen.it tries to download the file as c#.jpg and it fails.i believe if you intend to fix this problem you should try the method that FDM/Getright use.

i hope my info is enough to help you get a clearer idea of this problem.

We have fixed the problem for file downloads, I recommend you update your DownloadStudio 6.0.9 to the latest 6.0.11 and then download this patched DownloadStudio.exe from http://www.conceiva.com/temp/downloadstudio/downloadstudio6011a.zip

After downloading the zip file, extract the contents to the location where you installed DownloadStudio. When you add download urls with # characters in the filename the # will be replaced with %23 and the download will succeed.
