Hi,

I have installed the trial version and been doing some testing since yesterday. The main reason I am trying Mezzmo is because of the transcoding capabilities since my TV (LG LV5400) does not support DTS audio.

So far the transcoding works great, the only problem is when I play a transcoded file, I can pause and ff 2x but that's it. I can't skip forth or back, can't ff or rw faster than 2x and if I stop the playback and come back later, I do not get the option to start where I left off like the TV usually asks me, it will always start again from beginning.

So I'm asking if I can have those options when playing a transcoded file?

FYI, here is how I can work around the problem:
- I turn off transcoding for all devices in Mezzmo transcoding settings
- Start playback (will get the unsupported audio message), but can skip and ff as I wish
- Stop playback where I want to resume the movie
- Go back to Mezzmo and uncheck turn off transcoding for all devices
- Start playback again and this time I will get asked if I want to start at previous time

Thank you

Hi,

Does the audio play eventhough it says "unsupported"? If so, perhaps such files need to be added to the device profile, if they're not there already, so that no transcoding takes place. Can you please post FFmpeg information (in Mezzmo right-click on the file and use the "Get FFmpeg Information" command) so that we could test a similar file here?

We do have an updated device profile for the LG TV here, so if you send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com we'll send it to you to try.

I am using the LG profile, and it transcodes DTS fine. When I play the file with transcoding off, the audio doesn't work obviously as it is not supported by the TV (I get the unsupported audio). It's just that when I do that, I am able to skip and fast forward in the movie like I want.

The problem is when I play the file with transcoding (even if it has completed the transcode) that I am not able to skip, ff or rw. I get the error 'This function is not available now'. And I can't resume to previous time which means that if I stop a movie halfway and want to watch the rest later, I have to use the 2x ff which will take 30 minutes to get to the point I was. The only way I can avoid this is by using the method I dercribed earlier.

Thanks.

Ok, I'd recommend trying the updated device profile to see if it works better - if it doesn't, we'll start working on a solution.

I think I have the updated device profile? I downloaded trial 2.3.2.0 yesterday and I am using the LG TV profile...

Not unless you've contacted support for it. It's not the one shipped with 2.3.2, it's the one we have in-house for internal testing and inclusion in a future update.

Hi, I just installed the new version but it did not make a difference unfortunately. I would also like to know the difference between the LG TV and LG TV LE profiles?

Thanks

Sorry to hear that. Can you please send in the logs using the new version and we'll check them out? To do that, just turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try playing the file again and once it fails, stop the server and send the logs to support (at) conceiva (dot) com.

The difference between the two profiles is that the "LE" one supports far less formats (thus does a lot more transcoding).

Hi!

I'm just downloaded last version of Mezzmo (2.4.0.0) and besides mentioned problem in this thread (user gb7), I have another two problems:

- when I start playing any video type I get Loading... screen on TV for a relative long time period (about 30 second); same thing hapend when I try to skip video fwd or back; after this (30 second) video starts and it's perfectly played.
- when I played video which require transcoding (e.g. MKV with DTS audio) videos playback starts (after 30 seconds) and begin to freezzing picture and audio every 5-7 second (for 1-2 second and then resuming play for another 5-7 second,...)

TV is LG 50PK760, profile is LG TV, version of Mezzmo is 2.4.0.0, ethernet connection (AT and PC) via DSL router

Hi Mlaky,

Can you please send in logs for the issues that you mentioned, so that we could check out what's happening?

Hello again, here's an update,

I'm still having the same problems after updating to 2.4.1.0, and unfortunately this is the only thing holding me from buying mezzmo as I cannot rely ona program that doesn't allow me to ff, rew or resume. I am also unable to play subtitles or select audio tracks in mkv files.

I have tried the updated lg tv profile and sent logs to support. Also, the lg tv is detected as lg bluray (lpcm) in media devices and I have to manually change it to lg tv.

Thank you for looking into this.

If you sent logs to support, I'll send you a patch to try that should fix this issue. Can you please let me know your support ID number or or e-mail (PM me), so that I could match your support request to this forum post?
