View Full Version : LG 42LV5500 and Mezzmo

Hello,

First, please forgive me my poor English. I'm (un)happy owner LCDTV LG 42LV5500. I wonder if Mezzmo supports this quite fresh TV LED model. I'm asking because I tried to connect TV to Mezzmo using permanent LAN (Ethernet cable), unfortunately without success (I tried many profiles, results the same). Problem is that TV can't find Mezzmo server, although Blu-Ray player LG BD390 see it and attach without any (serious) problems (I don't use firewall internally, uPNP is disabled etc.). The worst thing is that when I turned on debugging there is no network traffic between Mezzmo server and TV-set...
It seems to me that either Mezzmo doesn't support this TV model, or LG TV can only attach to Nero Media Home (included to almost every LG DLNA-aware device). Anyway I asked mentioned questions to polish LG Customer Service also. I will inform you about their response.

Best Regards
Mariusz

Hello Mariusz,

Mezzmo should work with that TV. Is it on the same network/router as the LG BluRay?

If it's on a different network, then can you please check if any of the items in this thread apply to you: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/1183-FAQ-Cannot-see-Mezzmo-on-your-DLNA-device ?

Also, can you please confirm that you can see Nero's MH on the TV running on the same PC as Mezzmo? Or that doesn't come up either?

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for your suggestions. TV set and PC with Mezzmo installed are both located in the same wired net (192.168.4.50 - TV, 192.168.4.3 - PC). I already checked all things mentioned in thread below. Unfortunately no issues relate to my case. BUT accidentally I discovered that if I "refresh" IP configuration in TV (I mean: go to "Network Menu" and do the cycle "IP assigned manually" -> "IP assigned by DHCP" -> "IP assigned manually") EVERY DLNA server is detected without any problem ! I don't need to change any field on "Network Menu", just click on two arrows... It looks like firmware bug or something like this. I informed LG Customer Service about this issue, they suggested restore to factory defaults. As we expected this didn't help so second support request has been sent... In the meantime I decided to test recent 2.4.0 version with hope that maybe something will be fixed. I discovered that playing MKVs is not smooth, even using "LG TV" profile (initially my LG 42LV5500 is automatically recognized as... "LG BluRay (LPCM)"). In version 2.3.2 playing was perfect. Below FFmpeg information for movie which is good example:

Hello Mariusz,

We have an updated device profile for the LG TV, so can you please send a message to support (at) conceiva (dot) com and we'll send it to you to try.

Hello Dennis,

Thank you for your quick reply. New "LG TV" profile has been tested already. Below results:

1. TV still recognized as "LG BluRay (LPCM)" - for further tests manually set as "LG TV" device

2. Video - no 2-secs breaks required for transcoding - performance as in version 2.3.2 - PERFECT !

3. Audio - DTS track transcoded - no problems, performance as in version 2.3.2 - PERFECT !

Logs extracted to investigate detection issues (already sent). Thank you for any support.

Best Regards,
Mariusz

Hello Mariusz,

Thanks for the logs and testing!
