Hey.
I have just bought a VT30, and i was planning to use it with avi and mkv files by streaming with Mezzmo. When i use avi with a srt file, everything works fine. But when i play an mkv file, the srt file wont show.
Am i doing something wrong, or is it the VT30 that doesnt support mkv subs?

Yes, Panasonic TVs only support SRTs for AVI (DivX) files.

Thanks for the quick reply..
Will i work if i buy a panasonic DMPBDT210 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B004QWY7RU/ref=asc_df_B004QWY7RU4555912/?tag=pgelec-21-468-21&creative=22118&creativeASIN=B004QWY7RU&linkCode=asn) and stream through it and up to the tv?

The BDP actually supports less formats than the TV, so you won't get subtitles either.

Are you looking for some device to show SRTs for all files or do you need a BluRay player?

I am in need of a BluRay player and a way to watch my mkv files with srt.. So it would be nice to have a device that could do both.. But without it getting to expensive. :)

Perhaps a Samsung BDP would work - need to check if they support SRTs with MKVs though (different models may support different features).

I´ve checked a few of Samsungs BDP´s(those with 3d, since that is what i am looking for), and none of them seems to work with mkv and srt.

Which Samsung BDP model did you try? Was it a C or a D-series?

The D-series.

Well, it's possible that they don't support MKVs with SRTs - I haven't tried one personally, so can't say for sure. Perhaps someone who owns one can shed more light?

I have checked af few forums for information about samsung BDP´s, and they all seem to have problem with their srt files...
Is there any kind of multimedia box (That can stream and play mkv with srt) that you can suggest?.. then i will just buy a standart Blu-Ray play as a separate device :)

You'll need to do some research to see if it suits you, but for example an Xtreamer seems like a good solution. I haven't used it personally though, so cannot comment.

Of course once Mezzmo's subtitle engine is released, this won't be an issue anymore as well.
