Hi there, I'M trying to find a DLNA server that can stream my .mov files (created by my Nikon d5100) to my PS3.
However, when I use mezzmo, I get "unsupported media" when I try to play. :(
I thought it was going to be supported as the specs mention mov format. Am I missing anything?

Thanks!

Hi,

Can you please right-click on the file and post the output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command?

Also, please tell me which device profile you are using.

I'm interested as well. Just bought a D7000 (may or not be exactly the same format as the D5100 but certainly very close. The D5100 has 30fps, I believe).
I got it to work by running it through VideoRedo and converting to mpeg ps but that's cheating.

Streaming to a Sony KDLHX700.

We found that most of the time the PS3 fails to decode streams that are encoded in QT format (see metadata). Try the "Sony Playstation 3" device profile and it should transcode such files.

The Bravia should already be transcoding these files, so perhaps that fails? Can you please send in logs (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging).

That is exactly what we want to avoid! :)

If I convert, it also works with TVersity or PS3 Media Server. I'm trying to find a software to avoid this process.

Lets see what we the support guys reply, I'm hopping they can tell us what to do. I would be happy to buy the app if this works (so far I have the DEMO).

If the PS3 cannot decode this file natively, then there's nothing we can do. Try copying it to the PS3 and see if it plays from there.

I'll try now with Playstation 3 profile, but I'm pretty sure it will be the same result. I was hoping that Mezzmo would transcode to a supported format. However, I'm not sure the issue is the format, I'm getting the a different message
"The folder could not be accessed.
The file could have been deleted from the media server..."

It is intersting that I can olny find the file under "File Type --> Mov", but not under folder.

Yes, as I said previously, the "Sony Playstation 3" device profile will transcode those files. The "Compatible" one won't.

I must do be doing something very wrong... I've been playing with a few different apps. I just realized that I can't even browse pictures, I get the same message as above "Folder could not be accessed..."
I'll spend more time on it tomorrow. I'm starting to think it is problem with the interface between the controller and the chair! :(

Are the files on a local disk or on a NAS? Are you running Mezzmo GUI and Mezzmo server using the same user? Have an IP addresses changed, perhaps? Also, check the Media Devices to make sure correct profiles are still selected.

Hi Dennis, thanks for your quick responses!

I'm running Mezzmo on a Windows XP PC, which has a mapped drive (X:\) to a NAS (Synology DS211j), where all the media is located.

The IP addresses have not changed (I have them mapped on the DHCP server).

I'm logged on the Windows PC with the same user that is running the GUI (sorry, I think this is what you are asking).

I have double-checked the device profile and it is still Sony Playstation 3. In addition, I tried using my iPad (using 8Player app) and I get a similar response: I can see the movies thumbnails under File Type, but I can not play them. If I try to go via Folders, I see X:\ but there are no folders under it, I get an error when I try to open X:\

I now added the folders to the both Photo and Video Library (Instead of the All Library). It is now scanning the folder... which will take a while as I have 120G of Video/Photos.

If you wish, turn on logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try accessing the "X:\" folder from the server and once files fail to show up, stop the server and send the logs to support and I'll take a look.

Dennis, thanks a lot for the support!

Just an update for anyone else that could be having the same issue. My media is on a NAS server and although I have the drive mapped on Windows and I have added the folder "X:\", I had to enable guest user (read only) in order to make it work. So if you are trying to play Nikon mov files with this app (local files on the server) you should have no issues. Works really well.

Cheers,

Hans
