After trying various media servers over the last few months. I downloaded a trial of Mezzmo a few days ago. The install was very easy and setting up was intuitive (setup and options were akin to how I always thought media servers should work). I had a minor problem with playing FLAC on my Oppo BDP-83 which, after a read of some very helpful posts here, was fixed by editing the Oppo's PRF file. Everything just works great so I bought it! So I've been trying software from all around the world only to find the best one is right here in Melbourne, Oz!

Thank you - I'm glad you like it!

Can you please tell me what you had to change in the Oppo profile?

Do you mean turning off transcoding to MP3? The "Oppo BDP" device profile should actually transcode to LPCM as-is.

I wanted it to leave MP3 as is and transcode FLAC to LPCM.

The MP3s should be passed through natively, provided their bitrate is not higher than 448 kb/s. Can you please right-click on one of those MP3s in Mezzmo and post output of the "Get FFmpeg Information" command, so that I could check why it was being transcoded?

The MP3s were being passed through OK but the FLAC files did not appear at all in the the Oppo player. BTW you have two Oppo profiles and I was using the Oppo BDP (Not the Oppo LPCM). Should I have used the LPCM one?

Yes, the "Oppo BDP" supports FLAC natively, thus it was passed through. The "LPCM" will transcode FLAC files.

According to the owner's manual and Oppo's website the Oppo BDP-83 does not support FLAC or APE.

The BDP-93 supports FLAC (http://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-93/), so perhaps that's where the mix-up came from. Perhaps we'll need to rename those two profiles to reflect specific models.

Excellent.
