Hi.

Is mezzmo able to stream whole DVDs including all the menues? To what kind of format do i have to rip my dvd´s ?

It doesn't make any difference what format you rip to, assuming you are ripping from an original copy and keeping its original format. I keep 2 libraries. One for the original and one for DLNA streamng. Different DLNA enabled devices have different capabilities.

Mezzimo is the best DLNA server for transcoding video so it's compatible with your DLNA enabled devices. It's very well supported unlike other DLNA solutions currently available. :)

PS I don't think any media devices support movie menus or complete disks via DLNA, but maybe someday.

The original dvd format is .vob right? Which formats do you prefer?

It depends on your device, but try ripping as a single MKV or MPEG-TS file with h264 video for best results. Ripping as MPEG2 may create files with high bitrates that may not play smoothly over wireless connections.
