Poor playback of wtv files on Sony Blu-Ray Player (BDP-S580) - No buffering?

I was very excited to try out Mezzmo because I could not find another DLNA server that supported wtv files (recorded TV shows from Windows Media Center). Sadly, when I try to play these wtv files it starts off great for a few seconds and they starts stuttering. When I pause the video and resume playback, it will work great for a few seconds and they start stuttering again.

Other video file types play great without any problems, its just the wtv files that give me a trouble. My initial reaction is that its a slow transcoding process that is holding everything up. I can also play the same wtv files great through my xbox so the issue is not the video files themselves.

I have a new gaming computer (Dell XPS, i7, 8GB ram) and am using wired CAT6 connection (not wifi) so I don't think the problem is hardware or network related.

Can anyone duplicate this? Is there a way to have the software buffer the video first so maybe it does not start right away but when it does it gives smooth playback?

The DLNA player I am using is Sony BDP-S580.

Can you please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try playing one of the WTV files again and once it begins to stutter stop the server and send the logs to support.

An i7 should handle transcoding just fine. Did you change any settings in the Transcoding Settings dialog or the Media Device Properties?

Also, a few observations:

1. The problem appears to get worse as I try to play new/different .wtv files. The first file usually play okay, then when I move onto a new file my CPU goes nuts and the poor playback starts.
2. After I stop playback, the media server is still sucking up 90+% of my CPU making me believe that its still trying to transcode even though I am done watching. The only way to get my CPU back to normal is by actually stopping the media server

Do you think the program is trying to transcode multiple files even though I might be done watching one file and have moved onto the next?

Thanks for the logs.

Mezzmo will attempt to finish transcoding in the background, that's why you're still seeing CPU usage even when not playing anything. This is controlled via the Transcoding Settings dialog.

I think we can improve your playback issue - please open a support ticket mentioning this thread and I'll send you an updated device profile to try.

Just hooked up Mezzmo today and I have the exact same problem with an LG BD670 blueray player. Really want Mezzmo to work for WTV files as all other file types work great. I should note that the server is still getting thumbnails for over 2000 WTV files and is pegging the CPU, but WMC still runs and responds great, and I am able to stream MP4 movies no problem.
