I am trying a demo of Mezzmo (2.4.5) and for the most part love the application! One "annoyance" that I'm having is that the application interface is sometimes laggy - adding or deleting files or playlists causes the application to hang (not respond) for 5-30 seconds. The application always recovers having done what i asked, but am finding it to be a bit annoying. Is there something I can try to minimize/fix this?

Also, the streaming and trans-coding portion of the app work exceptionally well, but digging through folders and playlists from my TV is quite slow. (Sony KDL-55HX820) A movie begins playing (even a transcoded MKV) quicker than I can pull up the contents of a directory to chose the movie. Is this normal behavior?

Thanks, I hope this post isn't taken as complaining or ranting, i really do love the app!

The 5-30 sec hanging in Mezzmo is not normal and we'd like to know why this happening. Can you create a set of logs and send them to us? Please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try adding a file or deleting a file or playlist as you mention. After it hangs for a while and then recovers, stop your Mezzmo media server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the log files and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll investigate it further for you.

With regards the streaming on your Sony TV, are you saying that the movie is streamed/played from Mezzmo before you even select it? If so, that's very strange. Perhaps turn off your Sony TV and switch it back on to make sure its firmware is not confused. Also, in Mezzmo, make sure you are using one of the "Sony Bravia KDL" device profiles (go to the Media Devices dialog to see this). Try a different one and see if that helps. Stop and start your media server and delete your transcoded files using the Transocoding Settings dialog each time you change your device profile. If none of that helps, then please send a set of logs to us. On your TV, connect to Mezzmo and try browsing and streaming an MKV as you mention. Then, stop your Mezzmo media server and zip up all the log files and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll investigate it further for you.

I have had this to, hanging and crashing. I bought this software and since Ive had it, ive had patch after patch, now the films even freeze, pause, stutter or the program closes. I know it is not the films as they worked on older version of mezzmo, my pc are very high specs, so its not that, what the hell is going on. I have had to resort in manually plugging in the hard drive to my Samsung BDP 3D player.

My Specs

Windows 7 64 Bit
8GB DDR3 Memory
Intel I7 Processor
Hp Wireless Connection

I have the same issue. Mezzmo stops responding for about a minute. Media Server stops running.
I also have a lot of mkv files that Mezzmo no longer plays (but plays other mkv files).
Becoming frustrated.

Please contact support and we'll sort this out. I know these problems can be frustrating - sorry for that, but hopefully we'll get them fixed.

If you already contacted support, please let me know the support ID or your e-mail, so that I could find your issues.

i will just add a few things that i have noticed only since the lastest version.

1.if im copying a file into a folder and i then accessed that folder via a DLNA client the operation on the DLNA client will time out. Mezzmo will still be present as a DLNA server but it doesn't have its icon and when i select it i get no results just a blank screen ( like there is no files/folders/playlists). I require a restart of the mezzmo server to fix it.

2. Resuming support has disappeared ( C6500PS50)

3.might be my TV but none of the art work for folders etc works.

cheers

It's strange that Mezzmo would disappear like that from the device. Can you please send in logs when that happens?

Which device profile are you using (regarding resuming)? If you send in the logs, I'll be able to check that. Same goes for the art work, but please note that not all devices support folder art work (most don't actually).

I am having both these problems as well. Mezzmo will hang my whole PC while doing a chore, even small ones. This is on a 2Ghz Quad-core PC with 24GB RAM.

Recently Mezzmo has taken to not showing up on my DLNA devices and I have to go downstairs to restart the app on the basement PC - VERY frustrating. Today it refused to show up on a Blu-ray player that it had been working on fine before, and when I went to check it, it was running fine on the PC. Tried again on the player and this time it showed up but said "15 day trial expired". I checked the registration info in Mezzmo and it does have my registration info in it and no complaints from the app about expiration.

I've taken to just browsing to the video folder on my NAS - served up by my NAS. It's much less frustrating. The only difference is the transcoding for my devices (there isn't any), which is why I purchased Mezzmo. Hopefully some of this will be corrected in the release promised by the end of the year.

Hanging of the UI has been fixed and will be part of 2.5.0.

Regarding the "15 day trial expired" - can you please check that you don't have another Mezzmo server running on the same or some other PC on your network? That could be the reason why you get that message and also why it disappears on its own.

Cool! Looking forward to trying 2.5.0.

I have also had problems with Mezzmo not showing from the TV randomly - but I've also had this with every other DLNA app I've tried. For me, Mezzmo will be perfect once the interface lag has been fixed. :)

I just downloaded 2.4.5 and I'm also seeing the interface hang. In my case, the CPU went to 100% while importing iTunes files into the database. After about 5 minutes, I killed the process. I then restarted the import and it got a bit further before it hung. Should I just give it more time to see if it eventually finishes?

Any idea when 2.5 will be released?

Wondering the same here. Don't mean to be impatient, but I can't help it :-)

Any word on v2.5 release?

As mentioned, we're doing final testing and we will release it as soon as possible. The delays have been due to late issues being found during testing. These issues have either been fixed or are being fixed now.

No it hasn't. My I7 quad core machine hangs on every different thing I try to do in Mezzmo. It's either 30secs of nothing or the taskbar goes to "Not Responding" then eventually completes the task and goes about it's business.

Hi Jon,

Are you running the current version of Mezzmo (v2.7.10)? If not, try that. If still no better, email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll provide a patch that may help.
