View Full Version : Mezzmo not parsing TVDB Series data properly

Hi,
I've just just noticed that Mezzmo 2.5 has a small issue when deriving info on TV series from metadata created by MetaBrowser 1.0. If a TV series episode has a Guest Star, then Mezzmo merges the normal actors with the Guest Star. However the resulting 'Artist' field has the 2 values run together without a seperating comma.

For example:-
Series.xml contains <Actors>|Ian Hislop|Paul Merton|</Actors>

and the episode data contains <GuestStars>Boris Johnson</GuestStars>

The resulting 'Artist' value in Mezzmo is "Ian Hislop, Paul MertonBoris Johnson" - note the missing comma and space after 'Merton'.

HOWEVER, perhaps the handling of Guest Actors could be reviewed? Taking a leaf out of Music and 'Album Artist', if 'Actors' were placed in 'Album Artist' and 'Guest Stars' in 'Artist', then the resulting 'Active Playlist' of 'Album Artist > 'Artist' > 'Genre' would help keep TV episodes all together. Just a thought :-)

Hi,

Thanks for pointing that out. Could you please send one of those metadata files to support so that we could test and fix this here?

We'll investigate your suggestion regarding handling the guest actors as well - do you use any media organizer that does it that way?
