Hi. I would just like to say that I'm so far very impressed with the media server, and its capabilities. Haven't tried transcoding yet, though.

Anyway, im streaming from my PC wirelessly to a Samsung Bluray player (HT-D5550 - this is the name of the surroundsound + br-player, so not sure if its the name of the actual player). With their AllShare I was able to stream with .srt subtitles, but only on some files (regardless of container/format). With Mezzmo it just doesn't work with .srt, or other subtitle formats.

So, does this mean that my br-player does support .srt, or is the problem elsewhere?
And does .srt subtitles only work when transcoding, with Mezzmo?

P.S. Firmware on br-player is up to date

Mezzmo supports srt/smi/sub external subtitles and will stream them to devices that support them as well. One thing to check is if you added subtitles to your video files after those video files have already been added to Mezzmo, you need to run Maintenance in order for Mezzmo to find and use those subtitles.

Also, please check that subtitles are enabled using the Tools menu button on your remote.

If that doesn't help, please enable logging (see this thread: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) then try playing a file that should have subtitles for a few seconds and once subtitles don't show up, stop the server and send the logs to support.

Thanks for the fast reply :)
Amazingly, the remote to my brand new system does NOT have a subtitle button. However, I just tested, and subtitles work for all my simpsons and futurama episodes (avi/h264 - 175mb), but not for any movies of any format that I have tried.

It wouldn't let me upload it here :S

Thanks for the logs (albeit usually it's best to send them to support e-mail). It appears you're using the "Generic Device (NTSC)" device profile and that would be the reason why .SRTs are not sent to your Samsung HT. Please change your device profile to Samsung and try again.

Wow, this is really starting to bugg me. I've tried all the samsung profiles + Generic PAL, none of them work. A couple of them (think A, B, B-compatible) did send subtitles to the simpsons and futurama episodes.

Can you please change to "Samsung HT" device profile, then try streaming a file that should have SRT subtitles to your device and once they don't come up, stop the server and send the logs to support.

Couldn't find "Samsung HT", but used "Samsung HTS". Logs are sent to support email :)

Thanks for the logs - I'll get back to you via e-mail. It's the same profile :)
