Hello,
still trialling...everything has been fine to my samsuing d6600 tv.

Decided i better try the Sony Bravia hx720 last night, and things weren't so good. Basically after a couple of minutes, starts stuttering.
Sure enough i check mezzmo who says it's transcoding at 23-25fps (and too slow written in red).

They're mp4 files that i ripped from my own blurays, ...and my little nas box has no problem streaming them to the Samsung...but can't handle transcoding them to the Sony Bravia using the Sony KDL profile.

So i change the profile from Sony KDL to Sony KDL mp4...and it now transcodes at 500+ fps...looks and sounds fine.
I was happy to leave it at that until i went to play some avi files... but those folders appear blank on the Sony tv. (Think it's the exact same problem with profiles that Bondtimbond is having in his thread...so i will follow that thread)

Back to my thread title...i would like to know what (if any) low power CPUs people are using to transcode 1080p stuff thats not using the mp4 profile.

Mine is i3-2130 with 4gb ram at the moment. I see in the mezzmo help that quad core and 8gb is recommended....so i am happy to upgrade the hardware (including mobo if necessary), but would like to keep it low power as it'll be on 24/7

Would prefer to be able to transcode anything and everything on the fly, rather than pre-trasncode it all

cheers

The KDL MP4 profile is for Sony TVs that support AVIs. If you don't see them appear, then most likely your model doesn't support AVI and you need a different device profile. If you open a support ticket, I can send you a test "KDL (MP4, No DivX)" one, which should work better for your TV.
