Hi, has anyone has any luck with the above? I can see mezzmo but can't play any files, not sure what profile to use.

Please try the 'Panasonic BDP' or 'Panasonic HT' device profiles with this device. Go to the Media Devices dialog to set the device profile. Let us know if you still have problems.

Hi, thanks, i have asked panasonic for details of what the bt230 can play but my big problem at the moment is mezzmo confusing my tv up with my blu-ray player.

They are both running from ther same wireless n bridge/repeater (hard wired) and mezzmo can see both dynamic ip adresses but mixes them up as it only sees the one mac address which is the bridge, not the device, any ideas why, it it this which it uses to identify a device?

Basic setup is Home PC is the server, wireless n linked to main home internet hub / wireless router, wirelessly linked to wireless bridge/repeater, bridge working as 4 port switch feeding TV and blu-ray player and ongoing to other wireless devices not within range of main router.

If i delete all devices and tell mezzmo to use ip i can separate the tv & blu-ray out and i will start to test the profiles but at the moment it seems to transcode all formats and the result is very choppy. The tv on exactly the same set up plays the same test files perfectly now (thanks to dennis and a new profile - Pansanoic Viera - No MPEG TS).

I will test all panasonic options (excluding viera) first.

What i really need to do is fix some ip addresses but leave the rest dynamic, or tell mezzmo or the network what the correct mac address is as i dont want my other devices with fixed ip, it seems an all or nothing setting, any advice?

Two things you can do when your devices are behind a bridge:


Check if your router/bridge has 'MAC forwarding' or 'MAC pass through' settings. If it does, then configure it so that MAC addresses of devices connected to it are passed through.
If your router/bridge is not configurable, then go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and check the 'Use only IP addresses to identify devices' checkbox and make sure you have static IP assigned for your devices. Delete all devices in the Media Devices dialog and stop/start your Mezzmo server. That should populate the Media Devices dialog with the DLNA devices in your home (assuming they are turned on). Check that the device profiles are right, and then start streaming files to check all is OK.
