Hi

I cant get to grips with the date based play lists. Either the date added (year, then month) or recently added.

Neither contain all videos recently added. Can someone confirm which date field the keyword selection of year and month is using, i cant seem to add them to the columns to view or see them in properties, neither can i seem to see the "date added" which is being used.

For example, in recently added i have limited it to top 20, in it is a film where the created date etc is 2010, but this shows in recently added, a film added in feb 2012 doesnt.

Very strange.

Cheers

Steve

"Date added" is the date when you added the file into your Mezzmo library.

"Date created" is the date when the file was created. The creation date is typically determined by the file's creation date (i.e. what you see with Windows Explorer). For digital camera photos, the date created is the date/time when the photo was taken as extracted from the photo's EXIF metadata. For Sony video camera files, the date created is the the date/time the video was taken as extracted from .modd Sony PMB metadata files.

The Year and Month active playlists use the year and month from the created date.

The Recently Added playlist uses the date/time added into your Mezzmo library.

If you think there is a problem with your Mezzmo library, then please contact us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we may need to see your Mezzmo database to isolate any possible issue.

Hi, sorry its taken me a while to respond.

I can understand the date added now, that seems ok but i had to force a refresh, i had video files dated April in the March list. I have set a scheduled maint. but it doesnt always seem to refresh everything.

The recently added seems the weird one. I have checked the .db with sqlite and cant quite get to grips with the date added field. Can you tell me how to decode it, i have a recently added film with 1330454282 as a date (i added 24th of Feb) and a far older film with a date added of 1330454303.

The only thing i can possibly think of is around the end of Feb I finished the trial and purchased mezzmo and i have a feeling i may have had to reload my library, if i have what sequence do the files get loaded into the library?

Cheers

Your Mezzmo database may be a little out of sync from what you say. Without seeing it, I cannot say for sure though. If possible, I'd suggest you start from a new Mezzmo database and add your files back into Mezzmo. To start from a new Mezzmo database, its best to uninstall and re-install Mezzmo so everything is clean. Make sure you have the latest version of Mezzmo.

When you add files or folders of files into Mezzmo, then as Mezzmo finds a media file whilst scanning, then the file is added into your Mezzmo library (database) and the "Date Added" field is set to the current date/time when the file was added.

Hi!

Since a few weeks I also have a problem with my smart playlist which orders the movies by the added field (most recently added sort order). There are few very old movies on the beginning of the list. If I create a new smart playlist, that does not help, the sort order stays the same. So it must be som database index issue. To start over with a new Mezzmo database is no option for me, because then I loose exactly the date added information and by the way some other data I edited manually in the database. So how can I fix my database? I would be very interested in the format of the date fields in the sqlite db - if I could decode it I could propably fix the corrupted records manually.

Thanks,
Zoltan

Hi Zoltan,

You can send your Mezzmo database to us and we take a look at what the problem may be. Stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Using Windows Explorer, go to the C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo folder. You will need to send us the "Mezzmo.db" file. If it is larger than 10MB, then you will need to upload it to a filesharing site like dropbox or rapidshare. Email us the download link to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
