I recently shuffled a lot of files around on my system and ended up deleting some folders from Mezzmo and adding some new ones. Tonight I figured some library maintenance was probably in order. To say that it's going slowly would be an enormous understatement. I have a very large number of photo files and a significant number of video and music files as well. All told there are over 700,000 files indexed by Mezzmo.

The maintenance has been running for a couple hours now and still hasn't hit even 1% completion. It seems to be processing one file every second or two. At this rate it will be weeks before it's ready to run again. What the heck is it doing? At this point I'm thinking it would be faster to delete the whole thing and start over. The initial import finished while running overnight.

The CPU is a Core 2 Duo 2.33GHz with 3.5GB RAM running WinXP. Mezzmo is v2.5.0.0.

We've had a few reports this week that Maintain Library is running slower than normal. We're looking into it now and will fix it for the upcoming version that's due in 1-2 weeks.

One other issue I have found with maintain library is that it is scrambling iTunes playlists and adding songs which aren't in the playlist as per iTunes.

Thanks for this feedback. We'll test for this & fix it if we can replicate your issue.

I have seen this too. I had to move my database to a new computer and the first time it took approx. 24hrs. I just figured since I had 20k music files that was the issue, but I guess not!

The good news is that we think we have fixed the issue and the fix will be included in the upcoming release - Mezzmo v2.6
