it came up as generic device NTSC with the I.P. of router. Haven't tried testing it yet and not even sure if I choose this device from my Panasonic BDT220 playing where it will be looking for the video files. Just wondering if anyone else has tried this with any luck and how exactly would this even be used?

Your router has a built-in DLNA/UPnP media server so that's why you will see it listed on your Panasonic BDT220. You can optionally connect a USB drive onto your router and the DLNA/UPnP server inside the router will attempt to deliver the files to your DLNA devices. In reality, it does not work real well - no transcoding, no playlists, not artwork, no parental control, no settings, etc. My suggestion is to go into the router's settings and turn off the DLNA/UPnP media server. Very often the built-in UPnP inside routers interferes with Mezzmo streaming media to your devices.
