I have been using Mezzmo for awhile now with no issues whatsoever (great product I love it) but just tonight I have been getting some weird disconnects. I believe it is my fault because I told my niece to download Mezzmo on her laptop so she could view my media files and ever since she did I cannot stay connected to Mezzmo on my Samsung tv for more than a minute or two.

I do not even have to play a file for it to disconnect on me. It says...

Portable device is disconnected
device: Mezzmo

If I do play a media file it still disconnects after a minute or two.

I have uploaded my logs as stated in a previous thread and am hoping it is a quick fix. Thanks for the help before hand and I love the software keep it up guys. (I wish you had an android/IOS app or even a PC program thats lightweight just to watch the files on your server instead of sharing, that would help idiots like me a ton.

If you wish your niece to stream media files from your Mezzmo media server on your PC to her laptop, then she will need a media player on her laptop such as Windows Media Player or XBMC that is capable of connecting to Mezzmo and streaming files. Installing Mezzmo on her laptop will not let her view media files from your PC (since Mezzmo is a media server). So, I'd suggest you uninstall Mezzmo from her laptop and install XMBC. She should be able to run XBMC and see your Mezzmo server listed (assuming her laptop is connected onto your home network). Once she connects to your Mezzmo media server, you should see her XBMC/laptop listed in the Media Devices dialog in your copy of Mezzmo. Make sure you have the 'XBMC' device profile selected for it in the Media Devices dialog in your copy of Mezzmo.

If I have misunderstood your problem, let me know and I'll help further.

VLC 2.0 and up works also :)

Thanks guys.. that fixes the issue I have where she would like to view and watch my media files but the problem I am having is about me viewing my files on my TV. It is true I have only had these issues since she downloaded the software on her laptop and tried to view the files but she has since kept the software offline and when I turn MY media server on and try to watch them on my TV I get the disconnects.

It's best you send us a set of logs. Please enable diagnostic logging in Mezzmo (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging). Restart your Mezzmo server and connect to it using your TV. Once it disconnects as you mention, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the log files and send them us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
