View Full Version : Mezzmo only plays 1 minute 34 seconds of each track after update

Hi everyone, I hope someone can help

I updated to the latest version 2.6.1.0 , and it has suddenly dawned upon me (you don't always notice when immediately when music is streaming in the background and you are doing other stuff) that Mezzmo is now only playing the first 1 minute 34 seconds of each music track, then stops and moves on to the next track, plays 1 minute and 34 seconds of that, and so on.

I have tried this with dozens of tracks, and it's the same for all (I can't possibly check all the hundreds of tracks I have or I would be here all week).

Anybody else found this ?

Looking at previous forum postings from last year I see others have reported this problem and your response was to ask that they post the FFMPEG info, which I have done below, but I never saw what the solution actually was. I should add that previously it was working.

Example of FFMPEG for a Cocteau Twins track which previously played OK and now only plays 1 min 34 secs:

By the way this does not happen if I play the tracks from within Mezzmo on the pc itself, which launches Windows media player - the tracks play fine on the PC. Also, video files play in their entirety. It's just the audio. Incidentally, my set up consists of a dual core laptop, streaming flac audio files wirelessly to my router connected to a late 2011 model LG smartTV. I repeat, it was working before the update.

Many thanks in advance
ps I really do want to buy this software and I've only got 7 or 8 days left on the trial, but I'd like to be able to play the whole song ;-)

Many thanks
Paul

Thanks for reporting this. We'll test it here and try to reproduce the problem. We'll fix it ASAP.

What device profile in Mezzmo are you using for your LG TV? Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo to see this.

Well, before I did the update, I had left the profile completely alone - i.e. it was set to connection = ethernet cable (even though I am wireless), network adapter = automatic, device profile = generic (pal). To be honest, I hadn't changed that at all, I didn't even think about it, and it had worked fine.

Since then I have been in there and tried different profiles, such as LG TV, LG TV 2012, I have changed the connection to show wireless G.

Previously this setting in the old software also worked when I streamed to my Onkyo amp, now it doesn't - and I have also tried selecting Onkyo
TX/HT. Basically nothing seems to make a difference.

OK - thanks for the additional information. It's best you send us a set of logs. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream a flac file as you normally do and when it reaches 1:34s and stops playing, then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up your logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
