Hi,

I've been using Mezzmo for a month or two now with a Samsung PS51E550 TV.
Initially, everything was fine.
(Based upon what I've read since, I must have been lucky...)

Then, I found that Mezzmo would not always appear in the source list.

When this started happening, I could try to connect to the Mezzmo server, but the
TV would throw an error, and drop the connection.
It got harder to get Mezzmo to come up in the source list, and now it never appears.

I upgraded the TV firmware, and upgraded Mezzmo to 2.6.3 - no joy.

I'm now using Serviio, which is ok, but doesn't do fast-forward.
I've since leant that this is a common complain with Samsung TVs, so I'm wondering how Mezzmo used to work...
(the TV also sometimes unilaterally drops the link in the middle of a video too)

I've tried a couple of different Samsung apps (rubbish), so I'm using Servio until I figure out what's wrong with Mezzmo.
I have a strong suspicion that the fault is with the Samsung firmware, but I figured I'd ask this forum first before trying Samsung support...

As far as I can work out, the E series Samsung TVs are pretty new.
There's no profile in Mezzmo for the E series (I'm using the D series profile).

So, I wondering - is anyone else using Mezzmo with a E series TV, and does Conceiva have any plans to provide a E series profile?

I've read somewhere in the forum, that Conceiva can create a profile with the right info - can someone let me know how this is done?

Thanks!

It's best we see a set of logs so we can determine why your TV is sometimes not seeing Mezzmo or drops our during playback. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo from your TV. If you cannot, then stop your Mezzmo server and zip up the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. If you can connect to Mezzmo from your TV, then start streaming a file and when it drops out suddenly, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up these logs and send them to us.

Hi Paul,

I installed Mezzmo (1.6.4) on another computer on the same network, and it seems to work fine now.
Still have Serviio on the other PC, but I can choose one or the other on the TV, so that's fine.

OK - glad you are up and running now.

Hi Paul,

Ops, spoke too soon.

Can't connect again.
Mezzmo sometime shows up in the sources menu on the TV, but won't connect.
(and then more often than not disappears from the menu!)

This is with the latest 2.6.5 version BTW.
I do have a log now - coming your way...

Ian.

Please turn off your router and turn it on again. Intermittent connection issues like this can often be caused by your router getting in some confused state.

If that does not help, then we'll need to see a set of logs when Mezzmo is disappearing from your sources menu on your TV. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart Mezzmo. Reproduce the problem and then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
