Hi

I just noticed that a file I had pre-transcoded using 2.6.3.0 got re-pretranscoded by Version 2.6.4.0, see attached image.
288

I did change the device profile to match the new options for Sony KDL provided by 2.6.4.0, but the type of transcoded file is still the same?

Any explanation?

Thanks
Mark

That is strange. I would suggest you select them both and delete them, so there's no possible confusion. Mezzmo will create a new transcoded file the next time you play the file on your Sony Bravia TV.

If it occurs again, please let us know.

Hi Paul

Deleted both the transcoded files as suggested.

I tried another file that was pre-transcoded with 2.6.3.0, and it is currently busy transcoding again...

This is the last of the files that I had pre-transcoded with 2.6.3.0, but seems to confirm that the files are being re-transcoded :-(

Cheers

Hi Mark,

We need to see a set of logs so we know why Mezzmo is re-transcoding some of your already pre-transcoded files. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo using your TV and try to get Mezzmo re-transcoding an already pre-transcoded file. When it does, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Hi Paul

I have sent the files to the support e-mail address.

I deleted the first file listed on the trans-coding tab and then played the file and it immediately started trans-coding again.

Please take a look and let me know.

Cheers
Mark

Did the allowed size of the trancoding directory change? Just two stray neurons wandered close to each other.

No, I did not make any changes.

Got your logs - thanks. We'll look into it now and get back you when we find the cause of the re-transcoding.

Hi I have been having the same issues when I apply an update to Mezzmo. The Transcoding files folder "Video" is emptied (C:\Users\Hayden\AppData\Local\Conceiva\Mezzmo\Tra nscodingFiles\31C353EB-2015-4e7f-BE58-343E3A33498A\Video) of all previous pre-transcodes. I have tried backing up the pre-transcode files and restoring them but the file names obviously don't match whatever is in the database of Mezzmo so it goes ahead and re-transcodes again.
I have a large collection of files that do need pre-transcoding so it would be great if there is a way to restore prevoius files after an update.

Hi Hayden,

We don't have a method of re-instating pre-transcoded files. Transcoded files are deleted when you remove a device from the Media Devices dialog. Typically, you don't have to do this when you update to a new version of Mezzmo - however we have recommended it over the previous few versions as we had a few device detection & device profile issues that we needed to fix. We think they are fixed now, so hopefully you will not need to delete your device again.

(Although not a viable solution for you - there is a 'Save As' button on the Properties dialog (Transcoding tab) that lets you save a transcoded file to another location. Right-click on a file in Mezzmo and click on Properties to display the Properties dialog.)

Thanks for the reply. I have decided to save the trancoded files out to my main TV series folder, change the name to the original file name and change the file extension from .mzt to .mkv.
This replaces the original video files with a standardised .mkv format. Saves me from any future need to trancode etc.
