I am sure this question has been asked before but I cannot seem to find it.
With DS 7.0.5 and Chrome 21.0.1180.79, whenever I try to add the ChromeExtension.crx to Chrome, it complains that extensions can only be installed from their website. I have tried using developer mode to load the extension but I cannot get this to work either.

What is the correct way to load the extension to get DS to work with Chrome?

Thanks

As of version 21 of Chrome it much more difficult for extensions to be installed into chrome without going via the Chrome Web Store. Users who currently try to install the Downloadstudio extension into Chrome will been presented with a message that extensions can only be installed from the Chrome Web Store.

This can be overcome using the following steps:
1. In Windows Explorer, find the 'ChromeExtension.crx' file on your computer. It is located in the same folder you installed DownloadStudio into (usually c:\program files\Conceiva\DownloadStudio\).
2. Open Chrome
3. Enter chrome://extensions into the URL input area in Chrome
4. Drag and drop the 'ChromeExtension.crx' file from Windows Explorer onto Chrome

Here are a couple of links for more information about this process.

Thank you Brent.

Only problem now is that Symantec Endpoint Protection thinks that ndps.dll is a virus and removes it!

Ho hum, I will have to get my SEP config sorted to allow this.

Thank you for letting me know about the Symantec issue. I will contact them to report this false-positive virus detection.

Just an update to say Symantec have updated their virus database to remove any warnings for ndps.dll.
