View Full Version : XBox 360 sees Mezzmo, won't stream - everything else streams without issue

I've got 2 XBox 360's that can see my Mezzmo server on the list of PC's in the Xbox Dashboard but it will not start streaming. It fails the PC connection test on the Xbox but it does list it.

However, my PS3 streams from my server without issue.

I did install a new router (Asus RT-n56u) about the same time this started so I am suspecting that is the root cause. Do you know if a common (or particular) setting on a router that would cause this behavior with Xbox's? Thanks!

Hi rherdman,

Typical router settings that can cause connection or streaming problems are the router's built-in firewall, filter settings and UPnP/DLNA settings. We have a checklist that details these and other possible causes - http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/1183-FAQ-Cannot-see-Mezzmo-on-your-DLNA-device. If still a problem, let us know and we'll help further.

I checked all those things - the Xbox still will not stream. The PS3 continues to stream without problem and Mezzmo sees the incoming Xbox in the Media Devices screen, it just will not stream anything.

Check the device profile in the Media devices dialog. Your Xbox should be using the 'Microsoft Xbox 360' device profile. Restart your Mezzmo server after making any changes.

If still no success, then send us a set of logs and we'll see what may be going wrong. Please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. On your Xbox, go to the video player app and all the media servers will be listed. When you don't see Mezzmo (or cannot progress when selecting it if it is listed), then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

OK, I just mailed the logs. As a FYI, here are the steps I took:

1. Cleared the logs and restarted the service.
2. Connected to my server via my PS3 and started streaming successively.
3. Stopped the PS3 and tried to connect via my Xbox, It sees the Mezzmo server but says it cannot connect.
4. I went into Mezzmo, deleted the media device, then tried to access it via Mezzmo again. It listed the new device in the Media Devices correctly with the correct IP address and the correct device profile (Xbox 360). No luck.

Thanks

Thanks for logs. We found & fixed the problem. The fix will be included in the new version that will be released this week. We have emailed details how to try the Beta version if you wish.
