Hello. I'm Samsung B653 LCD TV user, with DLNA support.

http://www.samsung.com/pl/consumer/tv-audio-video/televisions/lcd-tv/LE55B653T5WXXH/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&returnurl=

This is quite popular model, well all 6,7 and 8 series are popular. Unfortunally, orginal software from Samsung for DLNA (Samsung Share Manager) have more flaws than cons. This is why I'm here. After some testing free and commercial DLNA software, I decided that Mezzmo is the best of it. And it is the most comaptible alternative software for my TV. I would like to buy Mezzmo, but few things are stoppers for me. Here they are:

- As I mention, my TV is quite popular model with DLNA support. But this model is not recognized in Mezzmo. Mezzmo sees my TV only as "Unknown Device".
- No SRT subtitles support, this is huge stopper. You mention that you would like to include such a support, but that declarations was made in 2009, so long time ago. When this support will be actually added? (and don't forget of unicode support)
- And last but not least, there is no Fast Forward support for MKV files. There is no FF even in Share Manager from Samsung, but FF is possible (Samy Go Extensions can do that), so my question is - can you add support for FF?

There are few more things like... I switched transcoding off. Mainly becasue I just play MKV files in 1080p mode, and I don't want to loss any of picture quality. If you add SRT or FF support to Mezzmo, are those functions will still work with transcoding switched off? If subtitles are not possible with transcoding off, I just want to say, that my TV have native SRT support, and it even works with DLNA and Samsung Share Manager, but not with Mezzmo. Why?

Thanks for any reply. And I'm sorry for my poor English, I'm foreigner.

Hello,

Thank you for the questions!

- Can you please generate a log file of browsing Mezzmo using your TV and send it to support@conceiva.com (see this thread for information on log files: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php?t=419), then we'll see what user-agent strings the TV is using and we'll be able to add them to the Samsung's device profile, so that it would be recognized properly.

- We have engineers working on adding subtitle support right now, so it should not be too far away. Some devices, as you know, support certain subtitle types natively (like the SRT on the Samsung) and we'll be adding that support as well. If there's a SRT file associated with a video, then you won't need transcoding (on the Samsung and some other devices), because we'll pass it to the TV and it will display the subtitles.

- FF/REW has been a really shaky issue with the Samsung TVs. SamyGo, from my understanding, actually modfies the firmware on the TV itself, so Mezzmo cannot do that. However, if SamyGo is installed, perhaps Mezzmo can take advantage of that - we'll look into this. It appears that the newer "C" series of TVs have disabled FF completely (even through their Share Manager), while the "B" series allow FF/REW on a certain set of files (AVIs mostly, I think). We're working on trying to make it work right now, so hopefully there'll be some positive results in this area as well. We are passing all the necessary information from our side (the server side), but the TV's client is the one that's not processing it (all other devices allow FF/REW).

Please let me know if you have further questions.

Dennis

Ok, I uploaded logs right here: http://www.sendspace.com/file/tee8u5 (I can't upload them on forum, dunno why)

What I do:
- Start the log and restart the server.
- Browse thru some files
- I started one MKV file with external subtitles (they don't show up of course)
- I try to FF/REW - didn't work either
- Stop logging and stop the server

Thank you for the logs.

Looking at them, it appears that the TV is correctly recognized as a Samsung. Can you please go to Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and delete the "Unknown device" from there to see if it'll be picked up properly? Does the "Samsung LA" device appear there?

Yes. That's solved the problem. I have Samsung LA on list right now. Can you tell me when subtitles support will be added? This is matter of weeks, months? I don't want you to tell me an exact date, but approximately when can we all expect this feature to be added?

Subtitles is actually a multitude of features (from finding and delivering subtitles to burning them onto the video for devices that don't support subtitles to allowing you to select a language, etc...). I honestly cannot tell when *all* of that will be done, but I would think that delivery of external subtitle files to devices that support them (including Samsung TVs) is a matter of weeks, not months.

Hello,

Thank you for checking out this PhenQ review (https://www.muscleandfitness.com/supplements/phenq-review/) and the questions!

- We have engineers working on adding subtitle support right now, so it should not be too far away. Some devices, as you know, support certain subtitle types natively (like the SRT on the Samsung) and we'll be adding that support as well. Also these 3 week diet exercises (http://www.danielleaubert.com/3-week-diet-review/) are amazing if there's a SRT file associated with a video, then you won't need transcoding (on the Samsung and some other devices), because we'll pass it to the TV and it will display the subtitles.
