I just purchased the software with high hopes, but it will not stream .MKV files to my hopper. It will stream and play other files, just no .MKV. Any fix?

Check your device profile. Go to the Media Devices dialog in Mezzmo and make sure the device profile is set to 'Dish Hopper/Joey'. Try streaming again & let us know how you go.

If still a problem, please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Stream the MKV file and when it fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and send them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

We got your logs, the MKV file is being transcoded to MP4 and the device may be searching for the moov atom in the file to find the duration, we have sent you an updated device profile to try.

I am facing exactly the same issue, all MP4 are working through ok with great quality, all AVI's getting transcoded to MPEG2 with acceptable quality but mkv is not working at all for me. I am using the latest profile that comes with the software for Dish Hopper and Joey. Will you be able to send me the same profile as well so I can try it out

No could not find it in my mail or in spam. I received this message as well as other notifications from coneiva without issues so i am sure it is not a spam issue. Can you please send it or PM to me on this forum maybe if that works?

Ok here are my findings
MP4 working directly
avi getting transcoded to MPEG2 and working on the fly
MKV's however still not working, it starts transcoding from what I can see but the video never shows up and after a few seconds of dark screen it returns back to the menu on the Hopper.
The transcoding some times continues even after that or in most cases it shows up as Server Paused and it stops there, here is an attached log file for investigation and in helping to make it better
FYI a profile i got of the internet from Tversity user makes mkv work without issues in Hopper but i would rather stick with Mezzmo due to the advanced features and control with play lists etc. You guys are doing a great job, hopefully this can be resolved

It appears your Hopper tried to play the MKV file (that was being transcoded on-the-fly to MP4) and skipped over it to the next file in the playlist/folder. That's why you see the "Server Paused" status on the transcoding MKV file (only one file is transcoded at a time in Mezzmo).

Try this: Right-click on the MKV file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'. Choose your device in the Pre-transcode Files dialog and click Choose Formats. In the Transcoding Formats dialog, choose the bolded format and click OK. Click OK to start pre-transcoding the MKV file. Once transcoding has completed, try streaming the MKV file again to your Hopper. Let us know if that works. If transcoding the MKV failed, click on the "Failed" hyperlink in the Transcoding pane and send us the FFmpeg transcoding log text.
