View Full Version : Mezzmo will not start automatically on Windows start

I have all my windows servers set to shutdown every evening and then use a WOL script to fire them back up again in the morning
Recently, Mezzmo has stopped firing up when windows starts.

I can start it manually with no problems, but would like to understand why it wont start automatically. It is a bit of a pain to have to keep opening a remote desktop in order to start Mezzmo, especially as I have devices in every room that may need access and I am not always about to start it

I have the same issue with both windows 7 x64 ultimate and enterprise editions. I have tried changing the Mezzmo Service from AUTOMATIC to use (DELAYED START) but that has made no difference. The service will just not start automatically on reboot even if delayed etc. I too am using RDP to access the servers and start mezzmo manually each time.

I should emphasise that this only occurs if either server is shut down rather than suspended. The service will resume from suspend mode.

This has only started to happen to me since release of v2.7.1 of mezzmo. I have recently tried altering the settings in mezzmo to NOT start with windows and then re-applied the setting to START WITH WINDOWS to see if that would work, but still no joy.

Thanks KGriff, I feel better knowing it isn't just me doing something stupid! Mezzmo is running on 2008R2 for me, and I too have tried disabling and re-enabling the setting to see if it will somehow spur it in to action, but no luck.

Any ideas anyone?

Peter/Paul,

So far so good, I have installed the two executable's from the zip file and the Mezzmo server is now running on Windows start-up. Will continue to test and let you know if any further issues occur, but my problem appears resolved.

I have a similar issue. MOST of the time, Mezzmo will start on Windows (XP, SP3) startup, but sometimes (once every 10 times perhaps) it will not. As noted, it is quite irritating, since the server is in another room. Any help appreciated.
