I got a new high-end audio streamer last weekend, a Yamaha NP-S2000. This is an audio-only device - no video at all.
I connects to the DLNA server on my Synology Disk Station and plays MP3s and FLACs fine. So player, audio files and network are correctly set up.
When connecting to Mezzmo (2.5.0) on my desktop PC however it sees all directories and audio files but does not play any. It always immediately stops playing and displays 'list update . . . .' forever. The audio files are exactly the same as on the Synology Disk Station.

The device profile automatically assigned is 'generic NTSC device'. I could not find an MP3 device profile. I tried Yamaha BDP and XStreamer without any effect. Any advice for the device profile I should try before starting to send logfiles?

Hi BeFi,

I would recommend the 'Yamaha RX' device profile - since it supports only audio formats (including MP3 and FLAC). If required, we can create a new device profile if the Yamaha RX is not well suited.

The constant 'list updating' problem was reported by many Yamaha owners earlier this year and has been fixed since v2.6.x. I guess you may be reluctant to move to the current version, v2.7.1.0 - due to disconnect/stopping issues that you experience with your Samsung TVs when streaming from Mezzmo on your home network. I believe we have all our Samsung TV owners up and running now using the latest version (and latest patch), so I would like you try again to see if things are better for you. Please email at support [at] conceiva [dot] com for a v2.7.1.x patch that includes the latest fixes relating to this issue. We are happy to continue to help you on this issue.

I upgraded from trusted Mezzmo 2.5 to 2.7.1 applying the 2.7.1.17 patch. The Yamaha NP-S2000 immediately worked as you predicted.

Remains to be seen whether my Samsung TVs and Mezzmo 2.7.1.17 like each other. This is the real challenge on my end. I will report back after more extensive use of streaming.

Thanks for the update, BeFi. Like you, I hope streaming to your Samsung TVs works better now. If it does not, please send us a set of logs.
