I am loving this software, got my Dish hopper to work on it mostly with the MKV (emailed support on it)
Just setup my new Sony BDVN790W Home Theater system. Now the question is which profile to use, i have tried various Sony profiles with varying success rates.

Tried the default Windows DLNA from Windows 7, it breezes through most of the files I have in MP4 and MKV with the exception of the older avi (Divx) files. Xvid seems to be ok as well but older avi files are not playing

I would like to see Mezzmo work for MP4 and MKV without transcoding as seems like the Sony supports them by default, maybe transcode only for avi?, so which profile is recommended from the list. Currently I have it for Sony BDA(Compatable) as it seems to be most stable with all MP4, MKV and avi working but seems like it is transcoding my MP4's & MKV to AVC before streaming, this seems to be an unnecessary step and hog for the PC in use as if some how if they can be streamed without transocoding and only use transcoding for the older/smaller avi files it will be a great setup.

I dont want to use the Microsoft windows default DLNA as I love the parental control and smart playlist features of Mezzmo

Please use the 'Sony BDP, HT, SMP' device profile. Try streaming your files. If any file fails to play, then make a note of it. In Mezzmo, right-click on the non-playing files and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Email us this FFmpeg information to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Paul,

Trying to get mezzmo working on my own Sony Home Cinema system BDV-N790W but I tried many of the Sony BDP Profiles, especially the one I could see above but for any file I want to play I have the error message stating that the file is corrupted or inavlid.

Even the transcoding is not logging any activity

Hi sethorus,

It's best we see a set of logs and that will help us determine the problem. Turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Try streaming to your Sony BDV and, when it fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all your logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com.
