Running paid ver of 2.7 streaming to an Lg LE5400 tv.. Theres always problems with this..My tv streams natively, without mezzmo, but because of its bitrate weird issues among other things,i wanted an EASY software to take care of it.Dont get me wrong,it is the BEST one YET,it still gives me problems with the header stripping and other things...

i dont want to transcode this thing-like comepletely transcode any movies..I just want it to frigging take care of it itself..

I really like the program, but what must i do to take care of the header stripping without a huge process?

Hi,
go to 'Media Devices' in Mezzmo and make sure that your device is configured to use the 'LG TV' device profile. You can force Mezzmo to deliver your files natively to the device by double-clicking your device in 'Media Devices' and then on the Transcoding tab uncheck the box to transcode incompatible media formats so that they can be played on the device.

Ok i did that. But what about the files that DO need to be transcoded? Like ,my issues are mostly audio..I need dts to be transcoded (preferably on the fly) This tv does not like dts,and also does not like 640kbps ac3 as well for some reason.. any suggestions ?

Oh and another thing.. i really dont need mezzmo to transcode video ,like at all

If you can post the ffmpeg information of some of your files we can modify the LG TV profile so that your video is remuxed into a new container and the DTS or ac3 640kbps audio is transcoded, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and select 'Get FFmpeg Information...' then click 'Copy to Clipboard' and paste the contents into a reply to this post or email it to support [at] conceiva [dot] com.

Simple enough! great to know these options are available......Many thanks...

im assuming you are referring to getting the ffmpeg info from a few of the problematic files only?

Will i also have the ability to transcode the Header stripping as well into this new container?

Ok well here is one VERY problematic mkv..Has the header stripping AND the 640kbps issue.

i had already deleted the other problematic mkv movie,my apologies, only have one example for now.

i have two copies of this particular mkv,one i reencoded myself with Popcorn audio+mkvtoolnix and the original i dug out of the recycle bin so i could get your ffmpeg info......And thanks again...Really

We have updated the LG TV device profile so that the AC3 audio in the MKV container will be capped at 448kbps, this will cause the above file to be transcoded with the video being remuxed (copied) and the audio being transcoded to AC3 448kbps in an mpegts container. Please send an email to support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we will send you a download link for the updated profile.

ok,and finally, about the header stripping? is this also included?

By header stripping you are referring to the removal of metadata when transcoding the file? Currently Mezzmo only transcodes the video and audio stream to the output file, all metadata is excluded. We may include metadata copying for transcoded files in a future version of Mezzmo.

By header Stripping i mean, in the mediainfo when i look at it,it says there is "Header stripping" which i have no idea if this is an audio thing or a video thing or a container thing... All i know is that from what i know, these LG hdtvs, particularly the LE5400, does not like this Header Stripping.. i know that i would have to go into mkvtoolnix to remove it which i have done before..

The other question i have is , now that i have downloaded the LG package, what do i do with the settings for this below? Where you told me to do this..

"You can force Mezzmo to deliver your files natively to the device by double-clicking your device in 'Media Devices' and then on the Transcoding tab"

I wouldnt think that i would be transcoding them natively if i am using this to transcode them, right?
Currently i think i have it UNchecked, but i am confused.

my apologies for being so noob ish.

For the header stripping issue, Mezzmo does not currently detect if header stripping has been applied to the file so matroska files that match the device profile will be delivered to the device for native playback, matroska files that do not match the device profile will be transcoded without header stripping and should play on the device. For Matroska files that have header strippinig and match the device profile, you can pre-transcode these files so that they play on the device, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and select 'Pre-transcode Files...' then check the box for your device and click 'Choose Formats...' then select the bolded format and click 'OK'. Check the box to pre-transcode files even if they match the device's supported formats and click 'OK'.

Now that you have the new LG TV profile installed, you can go to 'Media Devices' and double-click your device again then on the Transcoding tab check the box to transcode incompatible media formats so that they can be played on the device.
