I'm trialling v2.7.1.0 and was able to playback many video formats from my movie collection. As I'm hard of hearing I have subtitles file with each movie (all in SRT format with same name as movie file and in same folder). All SRT files are successfully played on the media player on my PC. However if I try playing the movie with the subtitles via Mezzmo to my Sony BDP-S580 (via wireless and has latest firmware) it will not play any subtitles. Any ideas why? My device profile is set to Sony BDP, HT, SMP. I've attached the troubleshooting logs for your info. Basically this is preventing me from puchasing Mezzamo as I need the subtitles to play as a minimum requirement. Thanks.

Cheers,
Zombie

Hi Zombie,

Sony devices unfortunately do not display external SRT files (even though Mezzmo streams your SRT files to your Sony BDP). It's a limitation in all Sony's firmware. The only way to get subtitles displayed is to "burn" in the subtitles into the video before streaming your video to your Sony BDP. The current version of Mezzmo (v2.7.1.0) does not do this, but our new version (Mezzmo v3.0) does and it will be released in a few weeks. We're just putting the finishing touches to it now and some Beta testers are providing us with feedback (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/5492-Mezzmo-v3-0-Invitation-for-Beta-testers).
