Hi,
are you planning a new profile for the Kindle Fire HD (2nd Gen) tablet. It would appear to have improved native media handling capabilities over the original e.g. FLAC and MKV (H.264) files can be copied onto the device and played directly.

(Also a Happy New Year to everyone :))

Cheers

We will certainly create a Kindle Fire HD device profile & it would be great if you could help us to create it and test it. In Mezzmo, turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart Mezzmo server. Connect to Mezzmo using your Kindle Fire HD and try streaming a few files. Then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. Also, if you know the video, music, photo and subtitle formats that Kindle Fire HD devices support, please let us know. Once we get this information, we'll create a device profile for you to try.

Ok - I've collected logs and am trying to send them to you now. A previous attempt got a delivery failure - do you have an attachment limit? The zip is 3MB - but will expand to over 55MB!

Hi Bodders,

If you are sending via a gmail email account, then gmail is not letting any ".exe" attachments in emails anymore & will block your outgoing emails. The log folders in Mezzmo are called "Mezzmo.exe" and "MezzmoMediaServer.exe" and those folder names stops attachments from sending in gmail. To get around this, rename your ".zip" file as a non-standard extension (such as ".tmp") and that should get around gmail's (silly) security scanning.

(In Mezzmo 3.0, we have renamed the log folders so you will not have to do this anymore).
