I just bought a Samsung UE32ES6710 32" tv. I was able to set up and connect to a samsung allshare server but didn't like it, because it doesn't show .WTV files. So I tried Mezzmo.

1)
Now the TV does show .WTV files (yeah!), but cannot sort the video files. With allshare, Samsung can do so, it is done with the blue "D" key on the remote and then choosing a sort method. With Mezzmo, the files are only sorted by name.

2)
With allshare, I can skip 10 seconds forward or backward in videos, by using the left/right arrow on the remote. I cannot with Mezzmo, even with ordinary MPEG files. Without the ability to go forward/backwards, DLNA is useless IMHO.

Thanks in advance for any hints. I did make a search and read the FAQ, without success.

I'm running Windows 7 64 bit home with Java 7 64bit installed. I also tried Serviio, which has the same problem.

Hi Xenu,

Some answers:

1) Mezzmo server has limited features for sorting/searching via your device's remote control. We typically recommend users to create a smart playlist in their Mezzmo library and you can sort by any number of attributes (e.g. title, genre, yea, album, artist, most played, recently added, etc.). If you need help doing this, just ask.

2) We found that when playing MPEG-2 files on Samsung TVs, there was limited or no ability to FF/REW with either Mezzmo or AllShare. However, if we pre-transcoded our MPEG-2 file to (say) an MKV file, then it was fine. Try this and see how you go. To pre-transcode a file, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and click 'Pre-transcode Files'.
