Hi Guys

Still having problem upgrading to 3.0.X. Using the Help/Upgrade option get a warning that Mezzmo is running and needs to stop. (Similar to when I upgraded to 3.0.0)

Press OK and then install fails.

Mezzmo gone from Start Bar etc.

Previous versions did not have this issue and upgrades were easy.

407

Will try and install again...

EDIT: Had to run the Mezzmo executable from Program Files..., STOP Mezzmo Service and Close Mezzmo before the install would work.:-(

Seems to be installed and running now. Will test when I get home for streaming etc to TV.

Cheers

I might be mistaken, but I think that dll error meant that your Mezzmo server was still running when you were attempting to install.

I've noticed that even if you close Mezzmo, the MezzmoMediaServer.exe remains running which is easily checked by in Windows by hitting CTRL-Shift-Esc, clicking processes all users and watching what happens when you shut down Mezzmo.

I've made it a habit to make sure I stop the server before upgrading and verify with task manager that everything has indeed ended.

Thanks, yes, It was still running. But in my experience with Mezzmo till 3.0.0 the server was shutdown by the install app. I have never had this issue in the previous 2.x.x versions I have had.

I noticed it had stayed running when upgrading from 2.7.1 to 3.0.0 but have to admit I can't remember it being an issue with prior updates.

Sorry about this issue, guys. We changed installer systems (from InstallShield to NSIS) for Mezzmo v3.x and this is the reason for the upgrade issue with some users. It seems that for some users, their Mezzmo.exe or MezzmoMediaServer.exe processes are not quitting before the fileset update is started and this is resulting in a conflicting fileset. In our testing over the past 1-2 weeks, we don't get Mezzmo.exe or MezzmoMediaServer.exe not quitting upon applying the update (under all sorts of scenarios we've tested) - but some users are so we are currently tracking why this is the case. For now, I do suggest that you make sure that these processes are not running before running the update.
