View Full Version : Streaming stops at poor quality/glitch in movie.

Streaming device Sony BDP, HT, SMP

I'm streaming a movie and about five minutes in it stops streaming and advances to the next movie. I check the movie on my computer and at that spot there is a glitch like poor reception on an satelite tv hd signal. It only lasts about 5 seconds.

Before the new version of Mezzmo I was able to fast forward through a glitch and continue to watch the movie, however I can't fast forward at all now, if I do it stops the current movie and advances to the next selection.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Ken

Paul

Hi Ken,

If the video is not too large, then please send it to us and we'll test it here with our Sony BDP. Email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com if it less than 10MB zipped - or if larger, then upload it to a online filesharing site like dropbox, mega or rapidshare and then email us the download link.

Thanks for the response, Paul. Unfortunately most of my movies are bluray and average 10 GB.

Hi Ken,

Understand on the large size of the movie. We should be able to help without getting the actual Blu-ray movie. Right-click on the movie in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'. Post that information so we can see what formats/codecs that video is using.

Hi Paul,

Sent Log info and FFmpeg to support. If you need the movie I can easily transfer it with http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/windows.aspx. I can't see it being a codec problem as it streams until the glitch in the movie which is about 5 minutes in. Have a similar problem with another file where it occurs about 60 minutes in (this one was before version 3.0 and I was able to fast forward past the problem and continued streaming fine till the end, however, as stated I can no longer fast forward after version 3.0.

Have tried a couple different things here. Tried to edit out the problem area but in checking it out realized the whole movie was corrupted in several places so deleted it immediately.

With regard to the fast forward issue I decided to try the 2012 profile (I have the BDP S580 (2011 MODEL) and the BDP S590 (2012 Model)) on my S580. At least when you hit fast forward it doesn't stop the movie and advance but it does give a warning that "this function is not available at this time" or words to that effect. For me this is the greatest program and am quite happy with it, except for not being able to fast forward and would also like to see a column indicating if a movie has been transcoded or not.

Hi Ken,

Got your logs, but they were missing some logs files. Please turn on logging, restart your Mezzmo server and then stream the file again. Try FF/REW and when it fails, stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us.

Logs sent.

Was reading post on "Increment Play count" and I had noticed mine was also counting almost immediately. What I noticed while debugging my ff issue is that it appeared to count (set to 20%) at the transcoding percentage rather than the actual play time percentage of the movie.

Thanks for the great service. The two patches have resolved my problems. It's a great program and am able to stream to two different theater systems at the same time and is really quite easy to use, but when I do have a problem it's refreshing to know that it will be dealt with.

Thanks again, Ken
