View Full Version : Issues with new update? Streaming stops, rate exceeded, HR24

I used the free trial for a total of 45 days, with no problems at all. The trial was all on the previous version. When I registered for the full version yesterday and got updated to the latest version, I can no longer stream a full movie. Movies that worked prior to the update will now play for some undetermined amount of time before stopping with a "video rate of XXXX exceeds the maximum supported by media share". It could be five minutes in, or an hour. What is causing this? Any workaround? I purchased Mezzmo because it was the only media server that I was able to use consistently with Directv's crappy Mediashare. Barring any workaround, is it possible to roll back to the previous version of Mezzmo?

I'm new, obviously. Let me know if there's any logs or information I can post which will be helpful in diagnosing.

Thanks!

J.

If you have the same problem, see here: http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/5663-DirecTV-HR24-transcoding-got-worse-with-v3-0-0-0

I rolled back to 2.7.1.0 and am back up and running.

Thanks for reporting this, juliend. Can you email us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com and we'll help you get back up and running with Mezzmo v3.0.2.0. In your email, please include the FFmpeg information on one of the videos that you streamed to your HR24 that stopped midway with the error you mention. Right-click on the video in Mezzmo and click 'Get FFmpeg Information'.

I am getting the same message from my DirecTV receivers here. Have sent an Email.

Thanks - we'll respond via email with a new version of "ffmpeg.exe" that should get you back up and running. Other Directv owners report that this fixes their problem (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/5663-DirecTV-HR24-transcoding-got-worse-with-v3-0-0-0/page3). The upcoming Mezzmo v3.1 will contain these fixes.

Just thought I'd amend this with something I discovered today. I know we've been fighting this on some level since the v3 upgrade but I'm wondering if the problem isn't with Mezzmo at all. I stumbled across this in the DirecTV forums while I had some downtime at work today:

Seems that Mezzmo might not be the only DLNA software with this issue with the HDDVRs. They have had about 4 software/firmware updates for the HDDVRs in the last few months and it might be that the firmware/software upgrades have introduced issues. I'm gonna hook up my H24 and see if the issue is just the HDDVRs.

Interesting. Let us know how you go with the HDDVRs. Hopefully we can isolate it down to a certain DirecTV firmware version that causing the problems.
