View Full Version : Active Playlists Not Processing

Since the latest update to 3.0.2.0 I've added a bunch of new albums and the main window is showing "processing active playlists" for about 4 days now. As a result none of the albums are showing in the index tree.

I'm not very tech savvy but am pretty sure I haven't changed any settings.

Can anyone help please.

Regards

I have the same problem. My Active playlist is static...

Is Mezzmo.EXE using a lot of processor power but not "doing anything"? If so, I have the same issue.

Seems this is a common problem with 3.0.2, It asked to maintain the library after the upgrade and has never finished.
Now 80% CPU use when ever Mezzmo is open.

May have to go back to 2.7

Edit:
Well, after a reboot it seems the tasks restarted and look like it will complete, and CPU usage is back to normal.

Glad you are back up and running, Rainey. We're preparing a new release that includes several improvements - including better active playlist processing.

Applied the patch and lost all of my artist/album playlists. Reinstalled the software and started again. The processing playlists stalled so I quit and applied the provided patch and now when I scan nothing is added to the album/artist playlist. Programme is also running slowly and hogging memory. Is the update far away or am I going to have to go back to an earlier version?

Hi KevinMc50,

It seems the patch does not fix your problem (as compared to other users). So, please turn on logging (see http://forum.conceiva.com/showthread.php/419-FAQ-How-to-turn-on-diagnostic-logging) and restart your Mezzmo server. Exit Mezzmo using File/Exit menu and start it again. Then, reproduce the situation where Mezzmo is using too much CPU and memory. When this occurs, then stop your Mezzmo server and exit Mezzmo. Zip up all the logs and email them to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com. We'll analyze what is happening and fix the issue ASAP.

Thanks Paul, Will watch for the update.

All is working good with 3.0.2, after the PC rebooted it finished processing the 17000 plus files and everything is working good.
It also finished processing the Active Playlist for a folder i scaned after the upgrade to 3.0.2 that added about 550 new movies.

Hi Rainey,

Glad to hear that Mezzmo v3.0.2.0 is working well for you. Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Paul. I've just done another scan and none of the new ripped music has been added to the active playlists. They just seem to be being ignored although the programme did appear to register a folder.jpg for each album that I've ripped. Typically it doesn't seem to be running slow today but just frustrating that it's not creating the playlist so I can then stream to my listening room.

Thanks for reporting this, KevinMc50. We'll check this problem out & fix it if we can reproduce it.

Hi KevinMc50,
can you please post the ffmpeg information from one of the files so that we can see the metadata, right-click on the file in Mezzmo and select 'Get FFmpeg Information...' then click 'Copy to Clipboard' and paste the contents into a post.

Have uninstalled programme, rebooted computer and reinstalled. Below is a track from the album that wont go into album artist playlist. Now running a maintain library in the hope of seeing it. Interestingly there is nothing for this artist now in the album artist playlist and I have about 7 of his albums!!

Interesting. Another user is reporting similar problems with his FLAC files. Can you zip up this FLAC file and email it to us at support [at] conceiva [dot] com? That will help us track down the problem. If the zipped file is larger than 10MB, then upload it to a filesharing site like mega, dropbox or rapidshare.

Paul - I uninstalled/reinstalled/rebooted last night after my last post and then ran a maintain library and there are now lots of artists and albums missing from my artist album playlist. For example the artist Boz Scaggs from which the above properties comes from no longer exists at all.

OK - we'll check this out. Please send us a FLAC file that does not get indexed by Mezzmo. That will help us isolate the problem.

Hi KevinMc50,

I am 'the other user reporting problems with his FLAC files'. One indicator of the issue is that entire records of one artist seem to be gone. Another indicator is that records of one artist, that seem to be properly associated contain all files of another artist's record.

Can you verify whether you also have this effect of wrong association of files to records?

The consequence is not just a scrambled library but also inconsistent behavior of Mezzmo. When going to the next title it frequently stops playing and cannot be 'convinced' to play the next title in row. Seems that the index is completely screwed up.

I seem to have the same problem with 4784 active playlist to be processed with my CPU stuck at 25%. Rebooting the computer or re-installing has no effect. I do have Flac files if it matters.
