I'm still having a hard time understanding the subtitle process.

I only use .VOB files (new version of Mezzmo 3.0 makes it gapless, thank you!) but I'm having a hard time getting to show the subtitles for the movies. The subtitles are embedded in the .VOB files and after reading some posts on here I see that they have to be "extracted" then transcoded?

My media player is WD TV Live Media player using the WD TV Live Streaming Media Player profile. Under the subtitles tab I have "Stream embedded subtitles" and "Burn subtitles" checked. I have "Stream External subtitles" unchecked as I don't have any external files.

Let me know if you need more info.

Thanks in advance.

Hi SilverStar,

One thing to try is to stream your VOB files to your WD TV Live media player & Mezzmo will stream them natively since VOB is supported by your WD TV Live. So the VOBs will be streamed directly to your WD TV Live - including the embedded subtitle channels inside the VOBs. When your VOBs are playing, try use your remote control on your WD TV Live to see if your can select the subtitles to display (press the Tools or Options or Subtitles button on your remote to find how to change subtitles). Hopefully your WD TV Live detects the subtitles in the VOB files and lets you select one of them to display.

If that does not work, then you can use the "Extract Subtitles" button in Mezzmo to extract the embedded subtitle channels from your video files and save them as external subtitle files on your computer. These external subtitle files are then used to stream to your devices. So if you do extract your embedded subtitles and save them as external subtitle files, then it's a good idea to turn on 'Stream external subtitles" checkbox so Mezzmo can stream them to your WD TV Live.
