I cant download the youtube at the top this page (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread936296/pg1).
Can anyone else download the youtube at the top this page (http://www.abovetopsecret.com/forum/thread936296/pg1)????

I cannot download any YouTube vids at the moment. I think another patch to DLS is needed.

Hi,

I was able to download the YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XGPWDBangZs) with the following patch installed:

Can you please check if the YouTube html5 beta has been enabled on your browser. To do this go to http://www.youtube.com/html5 and it should say you are not part of the beta program for html5. If it says you are part of the beta program click the link to leave the html5 beta.

Not in HTML5 trial. YouTube downloads start as normal, nut when on adds the job, instead of downloading the file, URL sniffer is activated - which has never done anything for me. More details in my email Brent. Can provide a screen cast of the whole thing. Using other utils until DLS issue fixed. Running 8.0.6.0.

Hi Modem,

I have tried this video and it should download correctly. Is it only this YouTube video that is not downloading or is it all YouTube videos?

Please try these steps:
1. Copy the YouTube URL into the clipboard
2. Open a new download job in DownloadStudio
3. Paste the YouTube URL into the new job
4. Click OK

If this fails repeat the process but before clicking OK in step 4, Click on the Download Settings... button and then select Video Settings. On this page try changing the Preferred Video Quality, and see if this makes a difference.

If the YouTube video is still not downloading please make a copy of the Job Conversation of the failed YouTube download job and send it through to our support staff to take a look at the issue. Please include in this support requests the steps you take to try and download the video.

Hi DrTeeth,

We found that with that particular YouTube video it was failing if DownloadStudio tries to download it as low quality (FLV). By setting the video quality in the download job to a higher quality level it should download the mp4 correctly. Please check your email for further details.

The fix does not work and the issue remains unresolved. Any idea if or when development on DLS will recommence? Please don't let it die :cool:.

Whilst Mezzmo is getting a lot of our attention at the moment, we're still working on DownloadStudio and improving it. Next month, we will be releasing the new version of DownloadStudio :D

Update: We have released DownloadStudio v9.0.3.0 and it includes the full support for downloading videos from YouTube. You can run Help -> Check For Updates in DownloadStudio to update your version.
