Win 7 64 bit. Mezzmo notified me that there was a new update so as usual I installed it. The update failed to complete saying that a related program was running and that I should close it but it did not tell me specifically what to close (I closed Mezzmo completely at the start of the update). Now it tells me that the update failed to complete and that I need to restart Windows before running auto update again. Restarting Windows does nothing. When I click on the button to clear that message a new message states that Mezzmo is up to date and shows the prior version number, which is obviously not correct.

Any help in fixing this would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Please download the full Mezzmo installer from http://www.conceiva.com/downloads/mezzmo-setup.exe. Close Mezzmo if running and stop Mezzmo server if running. Run this installer and, if it suggests to do a Repair, then click Yes. Otherwise the installer will upgrade your existing version. Let us know if you continue to have problems and we'll help further.

I did as suggested. The installer did not ask to repair so I let it install the latest version. When I start Mezzmo unfortunately I still get the same error where it asks me to complete the install by rebooting. Rebooting does not clear the error.

Also, Mezzmo does seem to run but when I click on Help/About to check the version number it freezes.

Thanks.

Something is still very wrong. I suggest you uninstall Mezzmo completely from your computer. Reboot your PC and then install Mezzmo v3.2.0.0 again. If that has the same problem, let us know and we'll help further.

Okay, before reinstalling complete I was able to check help/about without it freezing and it now says version 3.2.0.0. So that is good. And Mezzmo does appear to be running correctly, also good. However, if I shut it down every time I restart Mezzmo the auto update runs and gives me the warning box with this message:

"A previous package installation has not been completed.

Please restart Windows to complete the package installation before running Auto Update again."

I unchecked the updates box in options and reran and no message but I expected that. So I checked that box again and reran and I get the same auto update message.

I am hesitant to reinstall completely, will that wipe my settings/libraries/etc.?

Thanks.

You can prevent this message appearing by editing your Windows registry:

Press the Windows key on your keyboard and ‘r’ then in the prompt type regedit

This will launch the Windows registry editor and if you navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Conceiva\M ezzmo\AutoUpdate\Settings (if you are running 64-bit Windows) or HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Conceiva\Mezzmo\AutoUp date\Settings (if you are running 32-bit Windows) and double-click the value ‘busy’ and change the value to 0 then click ‘OK’.

After changing this value you should not see the message the next time you run Mezzmo.
